Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English in October 2011 and released the 30th volume on April 14. The manga has also been published in multiple foreign languages, including French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish, and Chinese.

Funimation licensed the anime series in North America and distributed the first season on two home video installments in June and September 2014, while the second season was released on a single volume in February 2018. It was followed by the release of the third season that shipped for two volumes on August 6 last year and March 17.

Shingeki no Kyojin won the 35th Kodansha Manga Awards in the Shounen category and placed sixth in the male readers' division in the 2014 Kono Manga ga Sugoi! rankings. The manga also was nominated for the 4th Manga Taisho awards in 2011, as well as the 16th and 18th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize.

One of the best anime

The Chief director is Yuichiro Hayashi, not Jun Shishido. In the web official of shingeki, Hayashi appears as the chief director, and the assistant director, Shishido. MAL PROBLEMS

I've seen the trailer so many times and I can't contain the excitement.

This trailer got me so hyped, I watched it 7 times! The music was great, and I personally think the animation and character designs are pretty good too (thus far)! Hopefully they maintain it throughout the whole series (and also amazing soundtrack as well please!)

I HAVENT BEEN THIS HYPED IN A LONG TIME UUUUUUU

For me a BIG NO!
why?
it's because i feel like it's gonna be another OPM 1 Madhouse > OPM 2 JC Staff studio thing again!
they should have not WIT taken out of their hands!

Convince me!...or I beg to disagree.
You can fully disagree.I love AOT to death and im effing HYPED

I am really not liking the character designs. They look bad. I'm really sad they changed from wit studio. Their art was amazing.

I just hope this new art style won't affect my enjoyment in watching this season. Hopefully it'll grow on me *fingers crossed*

I recently finished watching Dorohedoro and I think MAPPA did an amazing job with the animation so I'm not worried about the way they're going to handle SNK.

As someone who knows the manga content of this final season well enough, I've to say that I'm kinda anxious & worried after hearing about that. Attack On Titan is one of my all-time favourite anime, it's simply put, an EPIC series & the manga content of this season is absolutely top-tier, which if adapted well, can simply blow all expectations out of the water. Alongside that, we all know AoT is a series that has always been getting better & better with each season, surpassing more & more expectations, especially the last season, which was simply mindboggling, generating an unreal amount of hype amidst fans & blew past all expectations. And with the top-tier content of this season, this series has every potential of ending with an absolute bang & set a new bar in terms quality.

But with the blessing of WiT Studio gone now, which is easily one of the best studios out there & has done an outstanding job doing all the anime adaptations of AoT till date, I've to say that I do have doubts whether Studio Mappa would be able to live up to the reputation & do a good enough adaptation. This season really does have masterpiece/top-calibre content & has every potential to become one of the best things to come out in the anime medium till date if adapted well; all I can now say is that I really hope that Studio Mappa does well-enough & don't ruin this adaptation.

Imagine saying Wit is one of the best studios. Read my long description of Wit that I posted a page behind and you will know Wit is not a good studio at all atm. Now that they got rid of AOT they future looks a lot better though. Good luck to them.

Everyone complaining is still gonna watch it. Same as everyone who whined about Passione picking up DxD s4.

@Grardox

He has work with plenty of different studios for example one punch man he does a lot of the sakuga for one punch man season 1. So your point is null.

1-3 art style comparison

Don't bother to much. 90% of the people that comment on here have no idea what they are talking about just random stuff that they saw on twitter.
They need to understand that there are many studios more capable than Wit to adapt AOT and better than them. Wit is a really small studio, people think all the good fights in AOT are done by Wit when in reality they are done by freelancers.

Although Arifumi Imai is a freelancer, he is very consistent in WIT productions

As a layman who has watched every season and read most of the manga…..it looks fucking awesome. Goddamn people, stop bitching. Enjoy the fucking crazy ride you are going to experience.

dunno you guys, honestly it doesn't look that promising to me. not a fan of Mappa, although i must admit Dorohedoro was quite impressive, and studio's distinct blurry and somewhat dream-ish style of animations along with muffled colors suited it quite well. but in case of Shingeki, i don't feel like it's going to work out that well, hope i'm mistaken tho. gonna miss Wit's edgy style, vibrant colors, high contrast, and those thick outlines, which altogether looked quite unique and suited the mood of the manga perfectly in my eyes.
i know some are saying that now it's gonna be closer to the manga art style, but it's not necessarily a good thing in this particular case and might not look complementary in the end. oh welp wygd, we'll have to wait and see
