The official website of the Houkago Teibou Nisshi (After School Embankment Journal) television anime revealed staff and a teaser visual (pictured above) on Tuesday. The anime adaptation of Yasuyuki Kosaka's comedy slice of life manga of the same title will premiere in April 2020.

Takaharu Ookuma (Uchi no Maid ga Uzasugiru!, Yuru Yuri assistant director) is helming the anime at Doga Kobo. Fumihiko Shimo (Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru?, New Game!) is handling the series composition. Katsuhiro Kumagai (Gabriel DropOut, Watashitachi, Luck Logic-bu!) is designing the characters.

Synopsis
First year student Hina Tsurugi prefers to do indoor activities such as crafting. Having recently moved to a seaside town, she runs into an older schoolmate, Kuroiwa, who invites her to join the "Teibou" club and start fishing! Surrounded by eccentric club members, how will Hina's high school life turn out? (Source: MU, edited)

Kosaka originally published the manga as a one-shot in Young Champion Retsu in December 2016, which continued as a regular series beginning February 2017. Akita Shoten will ship the fifth volume on October 18.

Hopefully not precluding an eventual slow loop adaptation

or maybe it can be immensely successful and ensure one, hmmmm....

I only just now heard of this. I love fishing and ocean settings, and loved Tsuritama [the only good fishing anime I know of]. This looks like it will hopefully be the Yuru Camp of fishing. And knowing that the guy that did the script for Non non Biyori on this gives me high hopes.

Definitely an instant watch for me!

Doga Koba have been a part of some of the most cozy and chill anime to date and I honestly can’t wait to see how this’ll go!

Camping (Yuru Camp), Board Games (Houkago Saikoro Club) and now Fishing, I wonder what’ll be next on another note.

Yes! More slice-of-life anime from Doga Kobo. This is going to be an obvious watch from me

I don't know. The sinopse is very "simple" and unclean, even for a slice of life. May i give a shot, when begin to airing.
