The official website of the Hero Mask anime series announced on Tuesday that its second part will premiere on Netflix on August 23. The website also revealed a new character, a key visual (pictured), and a promotional video.

Yuu Shimamura (Bungou Stray Dogs) will play Tina Hurst, a girl that holds the key to the mask incident. The cast and staff members are reprising their roles from the first part.

Studio Pierrot produced the original anime exclusively for Netflix, which debuted with 15 episodes on December 3 last year. Hiroyasu Aoki (Hunter x Hunter (2011)) both directed and handled the series composition, featuring character designs by Takahisa Katagiri (Ballroom e Youkoso animation director).

Just about anything Netflix gets it's hands on ends up mediocre and forgettable, but I guess its cheaper and a safer financial bet to make em that way.....

hopefully, they've made some improvements, the first season wasn't that great because of some really bad directing decisions

Studio Pierrot? And Netflix? I'd say that's a rare occasion where minus and minus DOESN'T equal plus.

Hah. Netflix picks for shows are ao hit and miss. I wish they would quality control some of it. Retsuko and Devilman were decent selections, but geez, some of the other shows have been disasters.

I liked this show because it deviates a bit from the oriental standard. It's more "western" anime, with a serious mood.

@jaisan Is there a ny proof of some sort of involvement of Netflix in the creation of this series? What kind?

I watched about half of it in between seasonal releases. wasn't great. netflix does not know how to do anime.

Cool. I thought the first season was decent. Had a feeling there would be more after that ending.
