'Hello World' Anime Film Reveals Supporting Cast Members

The official Twitter account of the Hello World original anime film revealed four additional cast members on Thursday. A second special promo was also released by Toho. The film will open in theaters in Japan on September 20.

Kouji Senko: Takehito Koyasu (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 3: Stardust Crusaders)
Yiyi Xu: Minako Kotobuki (Hibike! Euphonium)
Misuzu Kadenokouji: Haruka Fukuhara (Koi wa Ameagari no You ni)
Crow: Rie Kugimiya (Fruits Basket (2019))

Tomohiko Itou (Sword Art Online) is directing the film at Graphinica, featuring character designs by Yukiko Horiguchi (K-On!). Novelist Mado Nozaki (Seikaisuru Kado) is in charge of the script. Hello World marks Itou's first directorial work for an original anime film.

Shueisha published a novel adaptation written by Nozaki on Friday.

She never left and she isn’t really working with 3DCG either.

She is being recently working as 2D animator (and designer) on the still-ongoing Ano Hi no Kanojo-tachi (22/7) slice of life shorts...

Her whole involvement in this movie is only designing the characters, not animation. It happens quite a lot... 3DCG series Revisions (2019) had designer and 2D animator Sunao Chikaoka doing only the character designs for it for example.

Although most of her time she spends it doing illustrations for novels (most recent Jana-ken no Yuuutsu na Jikenbo) and whatnot.

So Horiguchi Yukiko is finally coming back to the anime industry? I never expected her return to be a fully CG work but I guess that's what she's been playing around with the past few years in music videos.

im a sucker for "reality is a computer simulation" sci-fi stories so i will check this out

Graphinica is also the studio that animated one of my favorite sci-fi anime that is Expelled From Paradise
