'Yakusoku no Neverland' Receives Second Season in 2020
Yakusoku no Neverland adapts Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu's fantasy thriller manga of the same title, which began its serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump in August 2016. Shueisha published the 13th volume on March 4. The manga has a cumulative 10 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation worldwide.
VIZ Media released the first three chapters of the manga in English in their digital Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, at the same time as Japan, as a part its Jump Start initiative before adding the series to its regular lineup. The company's new Shounen Jump service now publishes the manga simultaneously with its Japanese release digitally. The eighth volume went on sale on February 5, with the ninth volume scheduled for an April 2 release.
Yakusoku no Neverland was nominated consecutively in the 10th and 11th editions of the annual Manga Taisho award, as well as the 22nd Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize, and won the 63rd Shogakukan manga award for shounen manga last January. The series also placed first in male readers category in the 2018 Kono Manga ga Sugoi rankings.

Awesome news! Can’t wait to see the finale now! Expecting a total blast of an episode and a very infuriating, hence brilliant, cliffhanger to make the year long wait a deserved one.
I was thinking of giving the manga a shot but I guess I’ll refrain from doing so now, will probably read till 37-38 Chapters though just to have a feel for the manga counterpart.
Sequels galore at the moment and I’m desperately hoping to see a 2nd Season of Kaguya-sama: Love is War join in too. I’ll be over the moon if it does!
was it good??? lmao

Ooh, a two parts series for an adaptation...
How many books were covered with the first half-series, please?
I think the anime covered up to Volume 5: Chapter 37 "Escape". If anyone's planning to read the manga, I suggest reading from the very start since there are slight differences between the manga and the anime.

How many books were covered with the first half-series, please?
@chloudei 5whole tomes in only 13eps?! Years ago, it would have taken ~ 20eps out of a full-length series (with 6 made-for-TV épisodes).
Not hard to believe there are différences.
@Gorochu Indeed... So many TV slots consumed by more épisodes for on-going adaptations rather than original projects. It's sad to live in those days...

I drop it in episode 3. All his message revolves around generating empathy with a representation of livestock that has nothing to do with reality, this tries to be serious, but it seems to me more comedy that does not even become funny enough.
How do you find it funny?
The topic of the show is raising kids to be sold of to get eaten without them knowing. The only thing that even comes close to being funny is how high up their mouths are.
It's supposed to be a thriller and get your blood pumping, not generate empathy.
I have never thought of someone's opinion to be so bizarre in my life.
that same thing is a thriller about cat-and-mouse game it's a battle of wit between the children and the woman caretaker, but that's all because the whole background behind it is not even remotely intelligent or philosophical, it's like mirai nikki.

Are the going to animate the part where they brutally murder Phil for ratting them out?! Cannot!
Wait!
Is this for real? Haven't read the manga, but you should at least put it into a spoiler tag..
