Keiichi Hara Directs 'Birthday Wonderland' Anime Movie
Warner Bros. Japan announced an anime movie adaptation of Sachiko Kashiwaba's Chikashitsu Kara no Fushigi na Tabi (Strange Journey from the Basement) children's novel on Tuesday. Keiichi Hara (Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai) will direct the movie under the title Birthday Wonderland, which will premiere on April 26. Actress Mayu Matsuoka (Chihayafuru live-action) will voice the protagonist Akane.
Russian illustrator Ilya Kuvshinov is in charge of character designs and visual. Miho Maruo (Nodame Cantabile Finale) is penning the script.
Synopsis
Akane, who has no confidence in herself, meets a mysterious alchemist Hippocrates and his disciple Pipo the day before her birthday. They ask her to save the world and names her the savior of the Wonderland. The two carry her into the underground room of the antique shop that leads to the colorful Wonderland, and the adventure to save the world begins.
Kodansha published Chikashitsu Kara no Fushigi na Tabi in April 1988 and a reprint in October 2006 under its Aoi Tori Bunko imprint. The novel has sold over 500,000 copies.

I don't think the apology he made is still up on DeviantArt (or at least I'm disabled at finding it lol) but he even had responses from artists like Sakimichan and it was pretty well received by the community. Unfortunately, some people haven't moved on from this drama.
Which if people are, they're hurtful to the progress of society and cause unnecessary delay while denying the growth of a person, and begs me to question why you posted this on an alt account.
4chan's /ic/ board is probably leaking. They've long since made Ilya their punching bag for something that should be done and dusted.

Been following her/his work since forever, what an accomplishment
Ilya's work in an actual anime? That's awesome.

nah, you're just backpedaling here. you said afterwards "Even Hunter X Hunter and DBS authors got caught tracing" therefore "so what" in that context means "why does it matter?"
and even if that's not what you intended, maybe you could learn a lesson or two to correct your writing as to not imply something you don't actually think. ;)
also stating "justified/doesn't matter" with a slash one can be mutually exclusive of the other, therefore you're ignoring the other possibility to make a convenient swipe.
nice logic.
so go on, tell me what your thoughts are on the matter of someone copying another artists' work and passing it off on their own. no, we're not jsut talking tracing or photo referencing like the aforementioned mangaka have done, we're talking actual real legit art theft. because imo artists get exploited enough.
Sackeey english skills and now trying to pathetically save face.
nice logic
I think art theft is horrible. Illya traced art so what?

"well known person traced therefore tracing is justified/doesn't matter"
nice logic
"So what?" is a genuine question and I never said tracing is jutified.

didn't kr0npr1nz (ilya kuvshinov) get caught copying, plagiarizing and selling traced drawings a while ago??
there's a huge dump of drawings and paintings he/she pretty blatantly ripped off here

Lately I also thinking his post kinda boring and not as good as used to be (2013-2016). But, don't use samallama post from Tumblr for your reference, everybody in the industry know that he just jealous with Ilya's success. Seriously. It blew up in Twitter a while ago.
Look at original Ilya post, and read the caption. It straight up cooldown fanart.

"Trying to denying that other knowing artist also doing the same thing by tracing people's art in media"
Nice logic there huh

Ilya Kuvshinov apologised profusely for his actions after being caught, removed the offending work from any online store fronts, and, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't repeated those mistakes since. He has been a good boy and now tends to specify when he has referenced other works for his drawings.
I don't think the apology he made is still up on DeviantArt (or at least I'm disabled at finding it lol) but he even had responses from artists like Sakimichan and it was pretty well received by the community. Unfortunately, some people haven't moved on from this drama.

People also gotta have something or someone to hate on to make themselves feel better. It's really sad.
