Original TV Anime 'Kochouki: Wakaki Nobunaga' Announced

An official website has opened and announced a new original TV anime by Studio Deen titled Kochouki: Wakaki Nobunaga (Gorgeous Butterfly: Young Nobunaga) slated for Summer 2019. The series is a historical drama aesthetically and boldly adapting the life of Oda Nobunaga in his teens up to his time as a warlord against his brother, Nobuyuki.

Director: Noriyuki Abe (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations)
Character Design: Atsuko Nakajima (Tokyo Ghoul:re 2nd Season)
Series Composition: Ryota Yamaguchi (Ao no Exorcist)
Script: Megumi Sasano (Hakuoki), Kaoru Sawada (Itou Junji: Collection)

Additionally, in the February 2019 issue of Animage magazine to be released on January 10, 2019, a novel prequel or spin-off adaptation of the series written by one of the anime's writers, Megumi Sasano, will be published. The series will also have a booth at the upcoming Comic Market 95 to distribute illustrative goods.

I understand but you always make it sound otome and reverse harem anime shouldn't exist. Many anime viewers look forward to otome level adaptations like these especially females.

This happens when people have eyes and brains only for female characters. I like them bishies feminine and more beautiful with long hair. I see some anime posters on auction sites are up already 1&2 I'm so hyped now. The characters looking so gorgeous. I won't even mind if it's bromance.

Woooah, that's the prettiest looking Nobunaga i have seen so far!
Definitely going in my PTW, just hope that it's not an shounen-ai/yaoi.

Also, i'm pretty sure Nobunaga is still a guy, when they genderbend historical figures into females, they have a specific target audience in mind and don't look like this, rather they would look much more moe and "cute-ish" to appeal to the common male otaku.

I even doubt you watch the said adaptations. You just able to criticize and insult them all the time. It does look like the female-oriented type of anime you immensely hate. It can't be serious.

I mean, the staff on this is pretty solid and Deen can be good when they try. Gonna wait for a PV to make up my mind about that one.

He looks like a touken ranbu character to me. Historical bishounen tend to look pretty feminine lately. The whole "bold new take" and "gorgeous butterfly" do make it seem like they might be going for a gender flip though. (Not that I would personally consider that to be bold)

Oda and Mori Ranmaru's lord-vassal relationship was thought to have followed the nanshoku tradition - an intimate relationship - and was widely admired in Japan for its strength. In nanshoku literature of the Edo period, it was widely understood that Oda and Mori had a sexual relationship that was commonly found in those times.

So while it will look historical, it wont be and it's gonna take a lot of liberties.

This line and the picture make me think Nobonuga is gonna be a woman, maybe pretending to be a man.
