Because the bigger boost is happening for the manga adaptation which was already popular reaching 500k but now older volumes are selling even more and new volumes too.

The LN can only get some boost since LN is a minor market compared to manga.

Delphinia Senki (3rd on the series rankings) had a volume that sold 21.9k

This is actually the lowest rank that Overlord has gotten on the series rankings all year - it last got this low a rank on w/c 25th December last year (the week before that being the last time it wasn't in the top 20).

Because people already bought Slime. Even now Slime LN vol. 1 has over 120k sales total, which more than double that of Bunny Girl LN vol. 1, which is just under 60k sales. The amount of LN readers is fairly limited and getting 120k sales for a LN volume already makes Slime a top-tier series (though it's still quite behind the true top of the top like Mahouka). Two shows being equally anime-hyped would naturally give the one with the lower sales (in this case Bunny Girl) a greater boost as more LN-regulars already possess the Slime volumes.

But things remain to be seen. Slime hasn't even reached any of the true hype moments yet. We'll see then.

There we go. Despite Slime only having a single volume as what is essentially the cut-off point, it still gets second place in total series sales.

Though to be fair, this is a rather "weak" week, because the highest individual volume sales go up to ~13k only, so it's not too difficult to get this result.

It's also funny how Overlord still persists in the total rankings despite the anime already being over for almost an entire month and no Overlord volume appearing in the individual volume rankings for quite a while.

I wasn't expecting number 1 to top the sales but I do like what I have read of the series so that makes me happy a little on the inside
