'Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai' Reveals Lead Voice Cast

The official website of A-1 Pictures' Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) anime series announced the first pair of main cast members on Friday. The television anime adaptation of Aka Akasaka's romantic comedy manga will premiere on MBS, Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, Chuukyou TV, and TV Niigata channels in January 2019.

Aoi Koga (Two Car) and Makoto Furukawa (One Punch Man) are starring as Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, respectively.

Miracle Jump began serializing the series in May 2015 before it moved to Young Jump in March 2016. Shueisha published the 11th compiled volume and the Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai Shousetsu-ban: Shuuchiin Gakuen Nanafushigi side story novel on September 19. The manga has a cumulative 2.4 million copies of its compiled volumes in print.

VIZ Media licensed the manga in English in February 2018 and plans to publish the fifth volume on November 6.

Maaan I really wanted yuki aoi as kaguya, that smug voice of shuten douji is perfect in my opinion, I can even imagine her saying "how cute".

Man, A-1 is the most mainstream hit or miss studio out there. I'm ready for lazy, slide show animations. Also, I can't believe they got a nobody to do Kaguya. I know its harsh, but really? They couldn't get someone well known for this? Someone with some actual experience? And finally... Saitama? Really? I'm more confused than anything else.

Oh believe me, I get that you're just worried and that's totally fine! It's just that you should always be skeptical about any production whatever the studio behind it may be since there are always different people involved under different circumstances that can take a project this or that way.

Boy oh boy, I guess the people riding the studio hive mind are already here at full force.

Your statement is pretty much true for any production from any studio or subcontracted studio. Anime is a collective effort with staff that is constantly alternating so to write something off right away due to a brand name aligned to it is just stupid, sorry.

Not the biggest fan of the castings. Kaguya sounds too light pitched (expected more of a Hitagi type of voice) and Shriogane I also expected to have a deep voice as well (Ishikawa Kaito type of voice). Still think they'll do a good job

A1-Pictures does pretty well with these SoL comedy shows tbh, but it's easy for them to mess up badly

While I also think I had a different thought in mind for the voices I don’t think it’s okay to write something off right away simply because it wasn’t what people imagined, I mean it’s a 30 second clip and people are already calling it garbage. I too am wary about it but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be given a chance. Hopefully they give us something good, if not I’ll be pretty upset.

I'm so sorry to say this but I agree with those who think they don't fit with the characters, you would understand very well if you read the manga and dive into their character

Cloverworks. And they don't have anything to do with A-1 for quite some time.
