The 4-koma romantic comedy manga launched on the author's official website Dokkai Ahen in February 2007. Square Enix picked up the manga for official release the following year and published the tenth and final volume in December 2011. HERO subsequently continued the series with side stories and irregularly posts them on her website. Square Enix compiles the chapters for physical release under its Gangan Comics Online imprint and released the 11th volume on May 26.

Daisuke Hagiwara began serializing a new manga adaptation titled Horimiya in GFantasy monthly magazine in October 2011, retelling the original story in standard manga format with an updated art style. The 12th compiled volume also went on sale on May 26. Yen Press licensed the manga in English and published the 11th volume on June 26.

Hoods Entertainment produced the first two OVA episodes in September 2012 and March 2014, respectively. The third episode was animated in March 2015 by independent studio Marone, established by the OVA series' general producer Tarou Yamada.

please I want proper adaption and the art too need to change. the ova one is really suck to be honest. art like ReLIFE is much more suitable for horimiya if there will be full anime adaption.

Episode 4 was great. Can't wait to see ep 5. (There's a cliffhanger at the end of ep 4)

P.S Hori-san ep 4 is now in QC. Don't bother me when it'll be out :)

There's like 90 chapters now? Where's our full series?!

There's enough content for a 24 episode TV series SMH. Gimme even 12 proper ones and I'm happy...

Either way, hope this OVA has better animation.

But I can take this tbh.

Horimiya would be a natural for an anime adaptaion, but it needs a lot of work to make it decent, as the last 30 chapters or so has meandered a lot, with no real direction.

I LOVED those first two OVAs, the 3rd one felt like it'd jumped 30 chapters forward. Nonetheless I'm hype it's still going.

Ah well, another OVA isn't too bad

Dropped the manga, but I really think Horimiya deserves a proper TV adaptation.

I'm just happy for more animated Horimiya.
The shorts got me into the new Horimiya in the first place.

Wait, where’d this even come from and what for?
Never mind that, when’s the actual adaption going to be even?

Nevertheless, I’m glad this series is finally get some attention now. I’m looking forward to seeing an actual proper adaption in the near future, but I’ll be sure to watch this too!

well, the original Horimiya came from this 4-koma by HERO

and i doubt anyone want to see proper adaptation of Hori-san to Miyamura-kun. the manga artstyle is not everyone cup of tea, just like ONE’s One Punch Man. what everyone wanted is Daisuke Hagiwara’s Horimiya, and i wished that would happen anytime soon...

it’s pretty entertaining, still.

I wasn’t referring to the original version as the ‘actual’ adaption but thanks for pointing it out nonetheless!
