A new One Piece anime film was revealed at the conclusion of the One Piece: Episode of Sorajima anime special on Saturday. Commemorating the anime series' 20th anniversary, the new film will be the 14th in the franchise and will follow the events of One Piece Film: Z and One Piece Film: Gold. The film is scheduled to open in Japan in Summer 2019.

The One Piece manga series by Eiichirou Oda began serialization in Weekly Shounen Jump in July 1997. The anime adaptation produced by Toei Animation has been running since Fall 1999 and now has nearly 1000 episodes, including six TV specials and 13 films.

Part of me is excited but part of me is also disappointed because this will be another new OP movie Funimation is more interested in getting rather than the older movies they continue to ignore. I'm sure I will enjoy it, I love every OP movie. I just wish Funimation would stop just waiting for only the new movies to come out and look at the older stuff.
which do you recommend besides Baron Omatsuri?
Besides that movie I love Dead End Adventure, Its a really fun movie. Clockwork Island Adventure is also fun and the first movie is cool just because its the first. I would say the worst OP movie is Chopper's Kingdom on the Island of Strange Animals, just a boring movie. Of the movies Funimation has I love Gold and Strong World, both very fun movies but especially Gold.

Awwww yiiiiiss this is awesome. Figured they were going to have a film to celebrate the anime's 20th anniversary when there was nothing announced last year.

I'm stoked, can't wait to be able to see One Piece for the first time in a theater.
