They are probably selling a lot more that the numbers in Oricon says. For example, we have "Tsujou Kougeki ga Zentai Kougeki de 2-kai Kougeki no Okaasan wa Suki desu ka?" that according to Oricon the second volume only sold 8349 copies before dropping out of the list and the first one sold 12889.

But in ANN there was news that the first two volumes together had sold more than 100k copies.

That's circulation figures - basically the number of copies the publisher has printed. It's linked to sales, of course, but only indirectly.

On the other hand the long tail is definitely very significant for light novel sales - if you look at SAO: Gun Gale Online 1 - it originally sold 90k from its time on the weekly rankings, then went up to 138k sales from that year's yearly rankings, and then a few weeks ago up it pops gaining 4.8k sales to 164.1k - so there's another 22k sales that have been gained over the intervening years which we'd never have heard about if the anime adaptation hadn't come along. On top of that you've then got sales that would have been gained when it didn't sell enough for Oricon to count it, and then on top of that you've got the sales Oricon doesn't count. That's actually a fairly weak example for something that manages to rerank. Volume 1 and 2 of Overlord didn't even rank when they first came out. Now volume 1 is on 263k sales, most of which were done in weeks when it didn't make the rankings.

Yeah, the users of that website buy a lot of isekai and romcoms compared to Amazon users for example.

Bookwalker often has different stuff selling well than elsewhere - it definitely has a distinctive audience. How much this is a result of different things doing better as ebooks and how much is a result of bookwalker in particular is fairly difficult to say definitively.
