At the Dengeki Bunko 25th Anniversary stage event held today during Dengeki Game Festival, it was announced that the Seishun Buta Yarou light novel series will get a TV anime adaptation. The anime is slated to premiere in October 2018.

Written by Hajime Kamoshida with illustrations by Keiji Mizoguchi, the romantic comedy series has been published under the Dengeki Bunko imprint since April 2014. The series ranked seventh among new works in the 2015 Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! poll by publisher Takarajimasha. Seishun Buta Yarou currently has seven volumes in print, with the eighth volume to be published on April 10.

A manga adaptation drawn by Tsugumi Nanmiya has been serialized in Dengeki G's Comic magazine since November 2015. Its first volume went on sale in October 2016.

Synopsis
Puberty Syndrome—a rumored, mysterious syndrome that only affects those in their puberty. For example, a bunny girl suddenly appeared in front of Sakuta Azusagawa. The bunny girl's real identity is Mai Sakurajima, a teenage celebrity who is currently an inactive high school senior. For some reason, her charming figure does not reflect in the eyes of others. In the course of revealing the mystery behind this phenomenon, Sakuta begins to explore his feelings towards Mai. Set in a city where the skies and seas shine, Sakuta unfolds the meaning behind his bizarre encounters on women with the said syndrome.

Cast
Sakuta Azusagawa: Kaito Ishikawa (Boku no Hero Academia)
Mai Sakurajima: Asami Seto (Chihayafuru)
Kaede Azusagawa: Yurika Kubo (Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou)

Heck, can't believe this news slipped past me somehow, lol. Reading the manga, since the novel translation is probably forever stalled for now. It's interesting, and Sakurasou author is a big yes from me.

Stilted, contrived story with equally stilted, contrived characters, especially the Oregairu-cloned one.
If you absolutely must adapt a romance with a derpy female, at least make it Henjo and not this junk.

I've read some of the early chapters of the manga, but it's confusing, though the story is different from what I've expected.

Sakurasou was very disappointing. Hopefully this adaption won't be as much of a train-wreck as the previous adaption by the author. We'll see.

well i read the manga and so far it’s kinda decent. and mc is quite refreshing cuz he ain’t dense and he’s pretty savage in most of his conversations (asked a pissed off tsundere girl if she was on her period which was hilarious)

Lmao

plz don't tell me the female lead is a tsundere? :/

don’t worry i’m talking about mc’s bestfriend’s GF. the bunny girl who is mc’s senpai has a personality similar to utaha-senpai from Saekano and she was considered best girl in that anime too. you should give the manga a go, it’s a good read or u can wait half a year for the anime adaptation. idk about the LN but so far there isn’t a love triangle just like in Sakurasou (same author)
