New 'Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho' Anime Special Announced [Update 12/18]
A stage presentation for the Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho franchise at the Jump Festa 2018 revealed on Saturday that it will receive a new anime special, which will be bundled with the 25th anniversary Blu-ray box set.
Drawn by Yoshihiro Togashi, Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho ran in Shueisha's Weekly Shounen Jump magazine from December 1990 to July 1994, and compiled into 19 volumes. The series won the 39th Shogakukan Manga Award for best shounen manga in 1993. The manga inspired a 112-episode anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot, two movies in 1993 and 1994, as well as several OVAs.
Viz Media published the manga in English between 2003 and 2010. Funimation licensed the anime series for North American distribution and released it in 32 DVD discs, before compiling them into four season box sets between July 2008 and January 2009.

The HxH wannabe will return, 0 fucks given.
Anyway, not expecting much from this, given they either have the option of adapting the poor post-Three Kings Arc chapters of the manga or offering an unnecessary remake of previous events, unless making new content irrelevant to an already complete story. In other words, it's a worthless cashgrab no matter what they do.

Stop it you MadDogShitHouse bandwagoner. What so special with that studio anyway?
They only do single cour anime recently and very few every year. You know nothing about old Pierrot.
Unlike MadHouse, Pierrot they can do multiple projects and long running shows at the same time every year!
and unlike pierrot, madhouse produces actual quality stuff
.. and yall are talking about remakes, but have you ever thought about a continuation with an original storyline? of course that one is pretty risky, but if its done well and fits yyh there shouldnt be that much of a problem i think. of course, its probably hard to archieve since basically everything that had to be done.... was done lol
at any case, i dont think it would make much sense to remake yyh. it is completed, has good animation, was a successful long running shounen anime, etc. - it basically has everything that it needs to have.. unlike hxh for example (which was not completed)
but yeah. hope they will do more than just one special

I don't know if you're being serious or not, but Yuu Yuu Hakusho started before HxH, so HxH is the Yuu Yuu Hakusho wannabe.

Modern animation. Modernize the animation and kids and adults alike will like it.
Why can't it have one?
Modernize animation? Did you even read it what I said? The original series already looks better than most long running shows like Madhouse's HxH.
Words of truth have been spoken.
Be in plot, characters, fighting scenes and even in the animation (who aged surprisingly well), YYH smashes current battle-shounen with a hand in it's back.
Also, it has just about a 100 and few episodes, so it has no reason why to make a Kai of it (which was kinda a cashgrab).
Or a HxH2011, as the original has ended complete, is very loyal to the source (sans the ending who is BETTER) and pretty as hell.

Heck, what makes you think the current Madhouse where they've lost most of their good staff can do a better job than the likes of Noriyuki Abe, Atsushi Wakabayashi and Akiyuki Shinbo?

First of all, Yuu Yuu Hakusho doesn't need a remake because the original series is already better than majority of long running series and holds up well to this day. A remake by Madhouse would be a terrible idea because there's no way they could do a better job than Noriyuki Abe, Atsushi Wakabayashi and Akiyuki Shinbo. Second, Pierrot has already done a successful reboot of another old series called Osomatsu-san.
That's still doesn't mean it can't have one.
Why should it have one? The original was a complete adaptation.

I highly doubt people like you have even seen yu yu hakusho. You simply see that it's similar to HxH and say it's bad to make HxH seem better somehow? Well you really seem stupid when you diss an anime without being knowledgable of it to begin with. Maybe stay away from forums if you're too immature to discuss things. Provide reasons for your statement and perhaps you won't seem like an utter moron. Anyway, watch the show, it's better than you think.
