Light Novel 'Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!' to Conclude

The official website of Kyoto Animation's KA Esuma Bunko imprint has revealed that light novel Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! is heading towards its conclusion. The fourth volume is scheduled to ship on December 22.

Written by Torako and illustrated by Nozomi Ousaka, the series has been publishing since May 2011. The light novel received its first anime adaptation in October 2012 after gaining an honorable mention in the first Kyoto Animation Awards. A TV sequel aired in Winter 2014. The franchise also received a recap movie of the first season, several animated specials included with various BD & DVD volumes, and shorts that were streamed online. An upcoming movie, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie: Take On Me, is slated to premiere on January 6, 2018.

Sentai Filmworks currently holds the anime's license for North America. The company recently released the recap movie and a Blu-ray containing the TV anime and specials in October and November, respectively.

I mean, best girl Dekomori isn't even in it so I'm not that interested in the LN version, as long as Yuuta and Rikka end up together I'm fine with it.

Has someone even read the novel? I mean, since the anime has a lot of original content, the novel becames almost pointless. I don't think they gonna adapt more after Take on me.

Yep, there's so much divergence/original content in the anime that this isn't all that relevant... And dare I say, the anime overall is a lot better from what I've heard of the LN (it's not that much of a lame harem).

Holy shit. I hope this means we will get an actual conclusion to this series either in the new movie or a season 3. Either way I think this is great news.

I hope they do a third season, but I feel like it's about time for the story to end. Romances shouldn't ever be too dragged out, imo

I'm also hoping for that! Chuunibyou is one of my favorite KyoAni works. Free! had its third season announced right after the movie, didn't it? Let's hope this happens with Chuuni too. Problem is KyoAni's "production line" must be pretty full next year since there's three series to air - Violet Evergarden, Free! season 3 and a light novel adaptation I forgot the name. And I'm not even taking movies into account, which I believe there's some in works. So even if there's a possibility of a 3rd Chuunibyou season, it won't be released next year.

O cmon. I jinxed it by saying 'everything I like seems to just suddenly finish right now', huh?? Don't just end the source material of my favorite anime ;-;.
At this point, I can only hope that it's a Himouto! Umaru-chan-style fake-out.

Or at least give us a third season after the movie... please ;-;

Oh, well, i allready expected something like this... it's a good and cute series. The first season was one of the best animes that i have seen. I wish a happy and cute ending for the series as well... and yep, FINALLY must HAVE a kiss... or i hope so..
