An official website has opened for a TV anime adaptation of works by horror manga author Junji Ito
on Thursday, revealing partial staff and a key visual (pictured). Tentatively titled Itou Junji: Collection
, the series is slated to premiere in Winter 2018.
The adaptation will cover stories from both the Itou Junji Kessaku-shuu
(Junji Itou Masterpiece Collection
) series, which spans over 11 volumes, including popular works such as Tomie
, Souichi no Kattena Noroi
(Souichi's Selfish Curse
), Kubi no Nai Choukoku
), and Frankenstein
, as well as the Ma no Kakera
(Fragments of Horror
) story collection. Stories to be adapted by the anime will be announced at a later time.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Junji Ito as a manga author. In commemoration of the anime project, Asahi Shimbun's comic website Sonorama+ is distributing
Ito's works free of charge until the end of August.
