I think we have some kind of misunderstanding. I mean 1 mil sales for a new LN series (just got adaptation this year), not a volume. Last year Konosuba and Re:Zero can do it. 2015 is Overlord and Danmachi. But this year I still cant find any.
Oh you mean total sales across the series.
Although it's worth noting that none of those series got a million sales in backlog volumes - all only passed a million in sales from the anime thanks to the sales of new volumes that came out during or after the anime. Overlord also took until well into the following year to get there and we only found out about it from the half year ranks the following year. How long do you continue to count something as being anime boost?
These things, combined with the relative invisibility of total series sales, and the fact that they are influenced heavily by the number of volumes the series has out so far at the time, mean that I much prefer looking at volume boosts (which can be followed on the POS ranks so long as the volume is in the top 500) rather than series ones when looking at anime boosts.

What are you basing the claim that it's well received off? Just a quick search brings up a lot of Japanese readers who claim to have been disappointed with it. And the top reviews/average review score on Amazon for the first two volumes are notably more negative than for other NisiOisiN series like Monogatari, Boukyaku Tantei and the Kubikiri Cycle.
Yes the gap between volumes won't have helped, but other series have that sort of gap without seeing anywhere near the >40% drops between volumes that this one is getting.

Rakudai is there. Just the OP had Memory Records mislabelled as Rakudai vol 2 at first. Rakudai volume 12 and its place on the list are right.
Oh right, was confused by you quoting both entries should not have been rakudai, my bad.

It seems to be well recieved and the drop off could be attirbuted to the amount of delays

Actually this series has one of the biggest drops in sales I've ever seen in a light novel series. Perhaps people bought the first volume because of the author or the connection to the rather more well received Zaregoto series, and then decided they didn't like it.

Rakudai is there. Just the OP had Memory Records mislabelled as Rakudai vol 2 at first. Rakudai volume 12 and its place on the list are right.
