The 17th issue of this year's Weekly Shounen Jump is announcing on Monday that Mizuki Kawashita's Ichigo 100% (Strawberry 100%) manga will receive a sequel. Titled Ichigo 100% East Side Story, the series will begin its serialization in Shounen Jump GIGA on April 28.

Ichigo 100% was published for 19 volumes between February 2002 and August 2005. The series was published in English as Strawberry 100% by VIZ Media under the Shonen Jump Advanced imprint from July 2007 to October 2010; and was dropped after volume 14. The manga was adapted into a TV anime in Spring 2005, a special, and a four-episode OVA by studio Madhouse.

Shouldn't need to be a sequel. Nishino was end game because her character/relationship development with the MC was the strongest. It doesn't take a "shipper" to seeing why she was endgame. It was well written. Leave it alone

All this says is the mangaka is weak will and bended to crazed shippers because the ending isn't what they wanted. Don't settle for some generic hamfisted harem ending

This ^ Nishino best grill, no question.

BEST NEWS EVER

This is like a fucking dream, a manga that finished literary decades ago gets a continuation. Many authors should do this to their old creations, I really like the nostalgic feeling when you hear something like this.

"Ichigo 100% was published for 19 volumes between February 2009 and August 2005"

Please fix this.

Oh shit my first ecchi. Used to look forward to it every week. Never finished it since I stopped leeching off my cousin's JUMP subscription, but I just caught up by reading this thread.

Maybe she's looking to capitalize on the harem void left by To Love Ru

The first manga I've finished reading is getting a sequel o_O. This is one of my favorites even though my ship sunk in the end. Give the best girl the ending she deserves!

did they adated it to the end? because shippers tears must be delicious especially for "axed looked" ending...
The only reason why this manga stood out for me was because of
If they are planning to change things otherwise, I will be REALLY disappointed.

OK, let's not make anymore assumptions now. Who knows maybe the author can contribute more to the legacy of this manga.

Anyways, got to re-read it soon.

EDIT: Added spoiler tags.

Never liked the that girl that won, so I would prefer if they changed that up with this sequel, but that probably wont happen (but I will rejoice if it does).

Well now o_O I remember trying to watch this so much years ago, but couldn't get into it, sadly. I think I just wasn't much a fan of harem/ecchi, enough to actually go seeking them out, so maybe that's why.

I think I even recalled there being an Ichigo 100% reference in one episode of Bakuman while it was airing that piqued my interest a bit more, but I never got around to watching it.

Anyway, that's pretty great news for the fans. I may try picking it up myself sometime then too

Okay, we had Kino no Tabi, Hell Girl and this...

Ohhhh.... Is this the theme of "April Fools Day"?

but the story is complitely different...

also continuation from what? our MC got divorced? that's radiculous... seeing their marriage life? that's not even what ichigo 100% was about... the ending already conclusive.. what's more to add?

the only thing i can see is different MC but same universe if it is actually pure sequel...

Ofcourse a continuation from where it ends. It could be about Aya as someone mentioned above and maybe shows a glimpse of the future of its characters after the reunion or even new mc as you said. Lol what's so hard to guess? It's a sequel.

isn't that more like epilogue like i mentioned previously tho?

edit: isn't there is epilogue already? IIRC, the rest of girl, even they didn't choosen, they still get their dreams come true...

Doesn't matter, both Fuuka and Machi written by the same guy. Regarding Ichigo, sequel means continuation. No way it's going to be alternative world. Another time skip maybe. Besides, you couldn't get more conclusive ending than that. Got to be a continuation.

I've been planning to read this manga for years now - but actually never did. So I guess this is a good opportunity to start reading.
