TV Anime 'Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau' Announces Staff Members

The official website of TV anime Kujira no Kora wa Sajou ni Utau (Children of the Whales) has announced staff members for the upcoming series. The anime is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2017.

Art Director: Toshiharu Mizutani (Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka)
Music: Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Orange)
Studio: J.C.Staff

The original manga is drawn by Abi Umeda, and has been serialized in Mystery Bonita since June 2013. Akita Shoten published the ninth compiled volume on March 16. The series placed tenth in the top 20 series for female readers in the 2015 "Kono Manga ga Sugoi!" annual rankings.

The IP looks alright, (though fantasy tropes in anime tend to be some of the dumbest, hopefully this is more mature) but the staff seems lacklustre.

I'm so, so tired of these 'boy meets girl in a fantasy world' stories, and the fact that this is directed by the guy who did Shigatsu and O;9 guarantees it'll be style over substance (which I'm sure there's little of anyway). It will look pretty, that's probably it.

Hey, what do you know, I guessed the studio right. Looks really good. The thing that really makes this amazing for me is the song, damn, this might be something really special.

Yeah, I had this on my mind since it was first announced (you still can't put it on ptw but whatever). It's looks promising but the choice of the director is giving me a headache. I feel like this is going to go the Comet Lucifer route...

Hmm this seems pretty interesting. Although I haven't seen Occultic Nine yet but if it is the same director from shows like YLIA and Lance... I still have a 50-50 chance. But, the rest is sold.

This looks great. Definitely getting my hopes up for sure. The only thing that bothers me is the pick for the director. Every Ishiguro work disappointed me considerably.

Nice Seiyuu choices. Looks really interesting - the PV just made me order the manga, because I really wanna know more about this. I'm in love with the art/character design.

This looks phenomenal. The PV is amazing, the character designs are wonderful, and the staff list is packed with talent. Shigatsu's director, Shirobako's script writer, and Summer Wars and Madoka's art director? Sign me up!!

Wow, this looks really good especially the PV. Watching it for sure when it airs.

The visual quality and atmosphere feeling blew me away. I recall reading the manga before too.

I didn't remember this so I looked at the original news and I'm pretty sure I dismissed this without even reading the synopsis because the cover seemed like some bishie thing.

Man, I was wrong. I apologize. Damn this looks good.

I'm honestly a bit on the fence about the staff but that PV just tells me to shut up. J.C. Staff has really been bringing some good looking stuff to the table. That's a freaking 3 minute PV too.

Kinda surprised Iizuka Haruko pulled off designs like this too, doesn't feel like her style at all, but they are really good.

Honestly the whole thing just feels like Nakamura Ryousuke's team but J.C. Staff's style lately has been going more in that direction, looks lovely.

And with a PV of this length and with a Fall premiere, I'm hoping this is 2 cours.
