Light Novel 'Juuni Taisen' Gets TV Anime Adaptation for 2017

An official website has opened and announced that a novel by writer Isin Nisio and illustrator Hikaru Nakamura titled Juuni Taisen will get a TV anime adaptation for 2017. Nobuhiko Okamoto (3-gatsu no Lion) will voice Usagi and Graphinica will produce the TV anime.

Juuni Taisen is prequel to one of the short from one-shot series Oogiri by Isin Nisio that was serialized in Weekly Young Jump titled Doushitemo Kanaetai Tatta Hitotsu no Negai to Wari to Sou demo Nai 99 no Negai. Shueisha published the novel in May 2015. The story is about twelve special fighters who battle against each other in order to have their one wish come true no matter what. These fighters represent the twelve Chinese Zodiac.

AnimeJapan 2017 stage for the TV anime will be held on March 26 at the Avex Pictures booth. Nobuhiko Okamoto, editor in chief for Shueisha's J Book Takanori Asada, and Kazuto Matsumura from Avex Pictures will attend the event.

sounds like Etotama fights for a holy grail.

i didn't have really good experience with nisio... heck i would prefer etotama S2 or urami koi adaptation... but still.. i will take what i given...

Medaka Box was the last Nisio series that I enjoyed (obviously there's the monogatari series but that one has become a tad stale for me) which makes me hope this one will share similarities with it.

With Graphinica doing Chain Chronicle now I think it's looking pretty good for the type of anime this will be.

Too many Anime announced today. Just found in twitter that including this "Mitsuboshi Colors" and "Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World-" anime was also announced. Announcements coming one after another.

They're doing the Chain Chronicle tv anime and movies, Hellsing: The Dawn, they're mostly producers so I can't really say how good they are at adapting tv anime.

Looking forward to this for sure especially with Isin Nisio involved. Hopefully the PV will be impressive when it's shown.

Based god Nisioisin back again with another adaptation of his work.

So far i havent been disappointed by the ones ive seen (Katanagatari and monogatari series). Im waiting that the OVA for Zaregoto is complete to watch it.

Surprised by the studio choice tho

Hmm another Nision Isin work? I still haven't checked Zaregoto (well nor Medaka Box I think that's the other series he worked on?), but this looks cool.
