ok so manabu ono bailed out, lol. madhouse also took their brand off the franchise, although madbox is still handling the photography/3DCG/editing, so its probably going to have same visual quality as s1. pv looks decent

Gotta love the idiotic way I went through all of this information.

Scrolled down to the studio first, saw it was 8bit. Thought, oh god please, 8bit is going to ruin something else yet again.

Watched the trailer. Oh damn, all of the art actually doesn't look like shit, in fact it looks exactly like the show, and all of the characters have the same voices.

Comes back here, "most of the staff from the TV series reprise their roles". Well now, guess 8bit being involved doesn't matter when all of the original staff members from madhouse are still working on it. Even the new director was still heavily involved in the first season, so they probably know how to handle the movie.

Fuck, now that this is happening I wish more studios would take this approach, especially with madhouse stuff. Oh, this really good show doesn't have a second season, but there's demand? Ok, just have all of the staff work at a different studio that actually wants to do it, that way sequels could be made, viewers are happy, studios are happy, and the original staff still gets to have complete control; its just a matter of what name its under.

^This also could've saved a handful of shows that got sequels from different studios and had different staff (aside from seiyuu) behind it.

Wow, the character designs is still the same, so I won't care if MadShit won't be doing this.
And if you ask me, the animation of 8bit here was an improvement compared to MadHouse.
And finally! I will see Tatsuya being badass again! Then hopefully after this we get a Season 2!

Haha why is this garbage still alive
Why you still interested in "garbage"? If you didn't like it, it doesn't mean everyone doesn't like it too. Hence why its alive.

Hey I have always liked this anime. Although not Madhouse :c even worse it is 8bit.

Kind of thought other studios would have picked this up since Madhouse isn't really nice with making continuations or some sorts, tho well... I was surprised with 8bit tho most of the staff members are the same except for one which is the director (the one in charge of this did some episode directing and storyboards for the TV series, so to some degree I think this one is still fine).

The military received DNA Onii-sama, when he was serving in the army and clone it as a little girl? It turns out, then she is his younger twin sister with a difference of 4-5 years?
That could be it, I was thinking along those lines as well.

Well, for me personally, it sounds more or less logical, but then why she is so similar to Miyuki in the official art? For obvious reasons, this may not be caused by Tatsuya's genes, especially if she is his clone. In general, it seems to me, it will be one of the main secrets of the film.

Something I noticed from the trailer after I looked it over again, Kokoa looks strangely similar to Tatsuya

Similar hair color, spiked bangs, and both have those sharp blue eyes

Then there's this scene with DNA strands on the monitors.

Madhouse are already a shallow form of their former selves anyways to be fairly honest. Most of their staff move away from their end basically so I wouldn't be surprised if S2 was a bigger flop than S1 of OPM.

Natsume Shingo wasn't even a Madhouse employ from the start ignorant ass.

Did I mentioned Natsume Shingo in the first place? No? Okay. I'm pretty sure he's still working over there (I think he's working on ACCA from what I am aware of but I might be incorrect) but still, its apparent that still people that worked and/or have started in that studio, or well you know worked transfering to that studio have left them. That's what I am saying.

Guess what, no more awful CGI backgrounds for Mahouka!

This "garbage" was Madhouse's best selling title until Overlord.
Fear not, they still have OPM2, that will become even bigger flop than season 1.

Okay just saw the PV... while I can't judge it entirely...

It still looks more so the same as the original TV series. Except less shaded I suppose.

Cant wait for more Onii-sama :) Dunno how to feel cuz of different studio but the trailer seems decent enough, so ye gonna judge the animation after i have seen the whole movie.
But else cant wait for it and hopefully after the movie we finnaly get a very well deserved 2nd season, its still one of the top LN out there with lots of fans.

Good sales and popularity is not a quality criterion, otherwise Twilight would have been a masterpiece. On the other hand, in my opinion Mahouka deserves more attention than one season advertising adaptation, while SAO having almost the same sale, will soon get a third season.

Symphyon said:

Again the anime series or S1 was already butchered because of the staff members (which was inevitable anyways since the LN's structure is difficult to be adapted), they're still the same so it isn't the studio's fault for it.

Mahouka not second Touka Gettan, I do not see problems. Not to mention the fact that with all the simplification of their personalities, I was easier to empathize Shiba siblings in the anime than their forever serious and pathetic versions in LN.

As long as 8-bit does a good job with the movie that's all I care about (plus the trailer looked amazing).
