Seems like the sales didn't go that well.
Neither did season 1's sales either, but I'm glad we got this second season and I hope they make more. I'm not holding my breath on it though.

Again, thanks for a very deep analysis :)
Let's hope that it will sells at around 60k, more Love Love was never a bad thing afterall.
Now that you mention it, μ's is a legend indeed. The Final Concert, which shown on some cinemas here in Indonesia, received a strong response from the fanbase. Fans coming well equipped with μ's merchandises back then. So it's safe to assume it's even bigger for countries with stronger fanbase, such as Korea, China, Taiwan etc, which certainly boosts μ's popularity and sales overseas.
But I believe Aqours has potential to surpass μ's at some points, it just a matter how they played their cards, but yeah the odds are rather low, for now, further analysis can only be made after we know how much Sunshine BD sales is actually.

49.4K for Love Live! Sunshine Vol.1 and 45.2K for Love Live! μ's Final LoveLive! concert BDs, but it is very likely that both will have significant underestimation.
Love Live! 2nd Season Vol.1 was estimated at 59K, but sold 82.5K in week 1, and Love Live! Sunshine is doing quite well at other retailers other than Amazon JP, such as Animate, gamers, softmap, etc. Same thing with the Final concert BDs, where the 5th live concert sold 55.6K in week 1, and the Love Live! μ's Live Collection sold 50,096 in week 1. I find it hard to believe the Final concert will do lower than that, and we also consider that this Final concert was at the Tokyo Dome with a seating capacity of 50,000~55,000 per day, compared to the 5th concert at the Super Saitama Arena Stadium Mode with a seating capacity of 37,000 per day.
Thanks for the deep analysis. So it's safe to assume that Sunshine will sells at around 60k? I know it's rather early, but is there any chances that Sunshine will surpasses U's at some points?
I really want to know about foreign shipping and how they help with the sales. I believe around 300-500 Sunshine BDs is pre ordered from here, mine included, but having the actual number will helps a lot.
60K+ if the performance at other retailers is as comparable as to Love Live! Season 2, but it is hard to tell since there are no predictions for other retailers, besides the daily rankings.
Sunshine is going to have a very very hard time to surpass μ's. μ's has achieved a ton for an anime related group, I mean being able to perform at the end of year Kouhaku is seen as the pinnacle for music artists. And then they have 9 gold disc certifications for CDs shipping more than 100,000 copies (11 for Love Live! as a whole if we include the BiBi subunit), and 2.86 billion yen at the Box Office (big for a late-night Anime franchise), just to name a few. In Japan, the successors have to surpass the original act to be deemed a success, but unfortunately I cannot picture right now how Aqours will be able to do that. Hopefully i'm wrong on that.
Well, I mentioned the gold disc certifications for CDs before. It is suspected that overseas sales are included in those numbers, because we know that the last BiBi subunit single sold 76,905 according to Oricon (who only reports domestic sales), but gold disc certifications are for 100,000 copies shipped. Clearly, there is a significant presence of overseas buyers for the Love Live! franchise, especially from Asian countries such as South Korea, and Hong Kong.

It's sad, but it was made too late and extra BD/DVD only episodes and Manga Time Kirara adaptations mix as well as alcohol and boating.

a rather weak sales this week eh
What's the line up for the next week sales? I'm currently waiting for a certain burst from a certain mega popular franchise
3 releases, both with low estimates. Had them posted on my site, but disapeared, can't be bothered to check again becease they are so low anyway.

Its sad to see that japanese audience is so used to idealized always right self inserts that they can't deal with a cast of actually realistic flawed people.
Battery is pretty much the only relevant or decent sports show pretty much ever and I don't even like sports genre anime nonsense.
