The official site for production company Aniplex has announced that it will begin a new division that specializes in the creation of scripts, scenario planning, and advertising. The division will be named Script Room and will be lead by Tomohiko Itou, who has directed shows such as Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Gin no Saji, and Sword Art Online, all three whom Aniplex has been heavily involved with.

It is mentioned by Tomohiko Itou that the group was established for writers to focus on a single project, since the idea of it is uncommon in Japan, unlike other regions. The group is also hoping to find new talented writers.

The group has listed recruitment opportunities on their site, with a deadline of September 30. Applicants do not require any previous writing experience nor are there any age or gender restrictions.

Aniplex has recently been involved in the production of Summer 2016 TV series ReLIFE, Rewrite, B-Project: Kodou*Ambitious, D.Gray-man Hallow, Qualidea Code, and Battery. The company will help produce the Fate/stay night Movie: Heaven's Feel and Kizumonogatari III: Reiketsu-hen movies, both slated for 2017. Its animation studio, A-1 Pictures, will animate the upcoming Kuroshitsuji Movie: Book of the Atlantic and Sword Art Online Movie: Ordinal Scale movies, which will also premiere in 2017, as well as the Fall 2016 show WWW.Working!!.

Aniplex of America, which is an American affiliate company, recently licensed Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Owarimonogatari, God Eater, and Kiznaiver for North American release.

I mean it's not really a bad idea, it sounds actually pretty nice but rather pretty skeptical about it. But we'll see how this turns out in the end. It can turn into good or into bad.

sounds like a good idea to me, going after the American model for TV. But, "will be lead by Tomohiko Itou"... hmmm....

No age restrictions is a unique one...though I bet some legit twelve-year-olds can write better anime than SAO.

Nah I think they'll go write for senile 90 year olds or maybe even illiterate or the blind.

Welp, this is the beginning of the end. Aniplex corporate overlords getting even more control and homogenizing the products even more.
