That's exactly why it's frustrating; they've already seen HxH and plenty of other shows that aren't what they look like from the fucking character designs. Not that I understand how so many distinct designs make either show seem generic or meh.
And I still want to know what a generic shounen looks like. The shounens most people know are the big 3, FMA, HxH and DBZ. NONE of those look the same, yet the big 3 and dbz are considered 'generic shounen' while the other two aren't.

Maybe i'm old school but from what i'm familliare with the big 3 are one piece naruto and bleach not FMA, HXH and DBZ

Yeah. FMA, HxH, DBZ and the big three are the shounen most people are familiar with.

Well yeah, but many people are thinking that it is a meh/generic shounen looking at just at the cast of characters, kinda what happened at hxh when it first came out. Ofc they are trying to look smart by passing a comment when they have zero knowledge abt the series.

Those character designs gave me cancer.

Even generic aliens in every space opera anime looks better than them.

What does average shounen shit look like?
He's just trying to look smart. There's no need to try to justify his behavior.
OT: Bones are getting too much praise for this. It's one of my favorite studios, but all people seem to acknowledge is Bones's efforts while the character designs weren't changed much from the manga. Then again, what really bothers me is the people complaining about how awful a series they've never read and characters they've never seen are, and how bones who are going to miraculously salvage it are the only reason they're going to watch this 'shitty shounen.'
Give me a break.
