A scan of the upcoming issue of seinen magazine Ultra Jump, to be released on October 19, has revealed that the American web series RWBY will be getting a manga adaptation by Shirow Miwa, the creator of Dogs: Bullets & Carnage.

The manga series will launch on November 19 as part of the 20th anniversary project of the magazine. An artist's illustration file will come together with the series' debut.

RWBY is an anime-styled web series created by American animator Monty Oum. It was licensed for release in Japan and received a Japanese dubbed version. The episodes will be shown in six Japanese theaters from November 14.

Oum died on February 1 at the age of 33 due to an allergic reaction during a medical operation.

Yeah I can see aswell that the animation lacks in volume 3. But I mean... The voice acting isn't bad, the characters are cool and lovable, it has some really badass fights that we will probably never see with an other animation style, and some weapons are really originals as the magic system, the universe is rich but simple, it has mistery, drama and comedy that matches and the music is fucking awesome. Still not convinced? ^^

^This! All of this! The characters are actually really likeable. The voice acting, while not perfect, is still very good, the world of RWBY is really interesting and the music is amazing.
RWBY's appeal isn't only the action scenes.

Hello!

I think that people have some problems with the animation/voice acting quality, which I think has gone up in season 3.

So do I.

I do not get the appeal of this series. It's in bad CG, it's generic, the characters are lame/generic, and the writing is bad.... It blew my mind when I saw that Japan was getting a version with their voice actors.

Opinions exist.

That's the appeal of the series.

What's wrong about the RWBY serie? I see a lot of people hating it and I was wondering why. I know that's a matter of taste, and I find it really good. So I'm curious to hear the arguments that goes against it.
By the way, I'm new on MAL, hello! ^^

I'm actually very excited for the manga! I didn't watch the anime because I thought the animation and art style was weird, but since the manga looks Japanese and very good, it's on my reading list! I'm very excited!

Mixed feelings about this, since I didn't like the original I'm a bit skeptical if I'm gonna enjoy the manga.

RWBY be allowed in the MAL DB.

I totally agree on the second part! I'd say give the manga a try, maybe you'll enjoy it!

I've seen rwby, and i like it. I hope the manga will have a different story from the web series.

I always find it amusing when people start to discuss stupid things on the internet.

Is RWBY an anime? Yes. It's ANIMated. Get over it.

Is RWBY a JAPANESE anime? No, it isn't.

Most people complaining/shitposting are either weebs or CG haters.

Now a comment relevant to the thread: I will read the manga for two reasons. I like the series and I want to read the manga if only because of the amusement the thought of reading a western animation adapted to manga will bring to me.

Pretty excited for this, though.
