'Kuroshitsuji' Gets New Animated Film

It has been announced via Twitter that the Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler) franchise will receive a new animated film. The official site also lists Daisuke Ono and Maaya Sakamoto as returning cast members for the roles of Sebastian Michaelis and Ciel Phantomhive, respectively.

Kuroshitsuji is a manga series by Yana Toboso. It has been serialized in Monthly GFantasy magazine since 2006 and is currently ongoing at 21 volumes. The series has received multiple anime adaptations, the last of which was a two-part OVA series titled Book of Murder, covering the Phantomhive Manor Murders arc. The next arc in the manga series is Ship Voyage.

Season 2 is not canon so it's not relevant to the story. The continuation is called Kuroshitsuji: Book of Circus followed by Book of Murder and the movie called Book of Atlantic will adapt the next arc in the manga called Ship Voyage arc

Yessssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!! My absolute favourite arc from the manga is the Campania arc (thus far), so I'm happy beyond belief! We finally get to see BA Lizzie and BA Undertaker...this is gonna be great!

I'd be fine with an original idea for the movie, but I'd ADORE it if they went for the Campania Arc! It's my 2nd favorite arc, and it's one of the best! To see it get animated would bring back some faith into the series. (Considering the first 2 seasons were disappointing...)

Yeah after all season 2 ruined the Black Butler anime imo but season 3 came and saved it.

It wasn't really much of a Season 3, it was just more directly to anime manga adaptations. That's why it wasn't titled like, "Kuroshitsuji 3," and it was just individual 'Book Of...' episode listings.

This. The first season is drenched with filler and the Curry Contest Arc was completely rushed and had so many alterations in order to fit in with the story of Season 1. Because of this, Book of Circus and Book of Murder don't really stand on their own in anime form.

Seriously, I don't understand why A-1 Pictures can't just reboot the whole damn thing like Bones did with FMA. They'd make more money that way.

I agree. I want this film to remake the first few arcs up until the curry arc, since they're so short. I'll try not to keep my hopes up, but who wants this film to be a remake?
