Nanatsu no Taizai has essentially slowed to a near total halt. It woudln't surprise me at all if Assassination Classroom overtakes Taizai. I'd be kinda shocked if SnK overtakes Taizai, as the final volume of the year for SnK was just released, so I don't think it'll get any more boosts and it's still over a million and a half volumes behind. Obviously the next two weeks are key for SnK.

It was a very interesting year in 2014 for One Piece, as it just barely edged out SnK and in 2013 was a bit over 2 million volumes more than SnK, but this year I think the gap will be pretty significant, especially since One Piece will be getting another volume before the year ends.

While we've seen some close calls, at least this year, we know One Piece will take the #1 spot.

Neither SNK nor AssClass will top NNT. It still has a volume to release before the end of the year.

Now the question is not ''Who's gonna be the best selling manga in 2015?'' but ''Who's gonna be the second best selling manga of 2015?''

In case of SnK it is around 10%, in case of One Piece it is 20% (which is kind of a lot), but 30% is just unbelivible for me. They will go out of business like that!

Before making statements like that, learn how a business works. While yes, sales are a very important figure for a company, not managing to sell a mere 30% of their stock immediately is the least of their worries. To put it into perspective, managing to sell less than 30% of their stock immediately is barely a huge thing to worry about either.

Also, the Big 3 coin was termed to fashion the 3 most popular series of WSJ from back then, which was One Piece, Naruto and Bleach, in that order.

It is for books though. Unless the series has a lot of hype and is certain that soon or later those copies will be bought(is good if it is sooner), 30% is a big margin. Also remember that we talking of 1st print.

As I already shown above, Weekly Shonen Jump best series in 2014 only 1 series got over 30%, Kuroko no Basket. We have also Toriko that got close with 29.5%.
Kuroko no Basket was in a Hype moment, the beginning of the 2nd season. Toriko was close to when the anime ended. I don't know if those factors had anything to do with their bad performance, but the fact is that the year after, 2015, Kuroko no Basket got down from 1Million 1st print to a 700K 1st print. That is less 30% in print. Toriko got from 540,000 to less than 500,000 and so not being reported.

Good to see Kingdom doing well, hopefully w'll see a third season or a english license in the near future.

I"m desperately hoping for the latter, but with so many volumes that have been released, I"m not sure it's likely. It'll end up as a top 10 selling series for the year, unless something crazy happens, but I'm not sure it'll be enough. I do think it could become popular in the west, which is why I"m so surprised it was never licensed.

no, it's a term created in the west for the 3 most popular long running Shonen around 06 -07

If that was the case one piece wouldn't be part of them, it was and still is nowhere close to the popularity of Naruto and Bleach in the west. From 2004 to 2007 the top 3 manga in ranking were consistently One Piece, Naruto and Bleach. The term is relevant to the manga not the anime.

one piece is probably more popular than bleach in every country except u.s. , in europe one piece is way more popular just look at the sales in france or germany even fairy tail seel more than bleach. in europe one piece along with naruto dominate .

Thank god you're not running the company, you would cancel a 600K+ seller with near no advertisement just for your hate boner XD

He didn't even mentioned canceling it,just said the anime won't come back, wich is true

ichii1 thinks anyone who mentions that Bleach is on a decline is a hater.

For people talking about print number look at 2014 print and sales numbers:

Position Series Volume 1st Print-Yearly Sales Percentage difference
1 One Piece 73 4,000,000-3,010,801 24.7%
2 Naruto 68 1,400,000-1,098,121 21.6%
3 Kuroko's Basketball 24 1,000,000-667,540 33,2%
4 Assassination Classroom 3 1,000,000-827,464 17.3%
5 Kimi ni Todoke 21 850,000-1,031,380 -17.6%
6 Blue Exorcist 12 750,000-734,896 2%
7 Terra Formars 8 750,000-715,449 4.6%
8 REAL 12 700,000-552,135 21%
9 JoJolion 6 700,000-506,764 27.6%
10 Bleach 62 660,000-603,344 8.6%
11 Toriko 29 540,000-380,454 29.5%
13 D.Gray-man 24 500,000-380,365 23.9%
13 To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness 9 480,000-342,826 28.6%
14 Ao Haru Ride 9 460,000-783,790 -41.3%
15 Gintama 53 410,000-403,237 1.6%

Percentage difference average - 20.2%

It really depends on the type of series and the situation in that year to get a good grasp about how much difference Oricon reported sales compare with the 1st Print, but it seems that more more than 30% is a rarity, and majority of them are between 15-25%.

I hope an Anime Adaptation is on its way.

Shoujo manga overall seem to be selling like hot cakes, they're constantly on the top of every list. It's weird that it's the complete opposite for shoujo adaptations.

Anyways glad to see Akagami.
