999 Second-Long New Movie of Galaxy Express 999

A new movie of "Galaxy Express 999" was announced to be shown at Galaxy Express 999 Movie Festival on September 9th. The 999 second-long movie titled "Galaxy Express 999 Diamond Ring no Kanata e" was produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the premiere of the first 999 movie.

Synopsis:
Galaxy Express 999 arrives at Kagoshima Prefecture during a total solar eclipse. Tetsuro gives a ticket of the express to a boy, who longs to be an astronaut. In 2035, a total eclipse occurs in Japan again, but...

More Matsumoto is always good...too bad I probably won't watch this movie until I find complete fansubs for the TV series (Crunchyroll streams doesn't count). :/

on 9/9/09 a 999 second 999 movie.. I can't help grinning at that XD


maybe now they'll finally release the first movie on DVD / Blueray? my VHS copy has been barely watchable for a decade...

I'm happy to see some new Leiji Matsumoto anime get released especially Galaxy Express which is absolutely fantastic.
