The autobiographical hunting manga by Kentarou Okamoto, titled Sanzoku Diary: Real Ryoushi Funtouki (Mountain Thief Diary: The Diary of Real Hunter's Battle), will receive an OVA adaptation. The disc will be bundled with volume 6 of the manga, releasing June 23. It will be between 10 to 15 minutes long and will adapt the events of the first volume.

Sanzoku Diary began publishing in seinen magazine Evening on February 22, 2011.

Synopsis

In 2009, Kentarou was inspired to leave Tokyo and return to Okayama Prefecture to become a hunter himself. Using an air rifle and traps, Kentarou hunts, prepares, and eats various animals. Nonfiction and short. Interesting. Why not?

Interesting premise. It's not often you see non-fiction material adapted into an anime.

What's with that innocent rabbit cover? o.O

Non-fiction sounds interesting though.

This might give me some tips. Who knows.

A shame that it seems to be just the one short.

The premise/synopsis sounds a bit different from the usual stuff...hmm might give this a try.

Finally, something completely different, I wonder if there is any exotic game in the mix. PETA may or may not approve of this because we all know they kill animals behind the scenes as well as save them.

Good for edgy animal gore lovers!

Also 15 minutes for one volume? It's either rushed as hell or the manga is really short.

Yay! I've been reading Sanzoku Diary for a while. Nice to know it will get animated.

Sounds interesting. Might give this a try. Not often I hear about non-fictional manga.

This sounds quite interesting. I don't remember any non-fictional manga getting adapted before. I hope the OVAs turn out good enough to get a full TV series. Will definitely check it out.
