'Diamond no Ace' Receives Second Season for April 2015

It was revealed in the 14th issue of Kodansha's Weekly Shounen Magazine that Diamond no Ace will be receiving a second season for April titled Diamond no A ~Second Season~ (Ace of Diamond ~Second Season~) with a different airing day of Monday at 18:00 instead of Sunday at 8:30. An uncolored anime visual for the new season was also previewed in the issue.

Last year, the first season was reported to be extended until March 2015.

yes glad they extending the season for whos knows how many ep, i wish they would have done the same with Area no Kishi they build everything right to the point they dropped it and fans like me were pissed

He is! Very good picture choice. Even though they're rivals, they are friendly most of the time and their interactions are golden. One of my favourite rival relationships ever.

Swamura does suck. He is incredibly stupid, his idiocy made me close to dropping this series at first. He wants to be an ace and yet doesn't even know the rules properly.

At least he finally learned some but he still is an idiot, I cringe most of the time when he opens his mouth.

Though Furuya is annoying too. In all honesty, this series don't really have many likeable characters among the main team. I would love to have Raichi's team as centre or Narumiya's.

Oh well, one can dream. Series aren't bad over all so will keep watching. Though it looks pretty weird to end a season just to start new one right away.

Probably because of contract. It's very rare to see TV channel allowing this kind of flexibility.
So I guess they did have a 1st contract getting an unusual extend, but now they need to do a new one.

Or maybe they just need to do a "Season 2", because it's new. And consumers tends to like new things ;)

It was probably just to take a break.. Many other anime do it but in different ways (*cough* HXH) and maybe so that people on the season charts look at it and are like "Oh whats this show maybe its good and its the 2nd season, maybe ill watch it" and also to have a new key animation since IG is leaving the project from what ive heard..

Yup! The latest anime episode covered ch 223, and the released chapters are up to 412! So a this first season covered a little more than half!

This second season will pass the translations too so I'm super happy!
