Bandai Namco Pictures to be Split from Animation Studio Sunrise
This move is part of plans by Bandai Namco to strengthen its capacity in generating intellectual property (IP), focusing on the creation of IP products and services. Sunrise, along with Bandai Visual, will continue to be responsible for the Mobile Suit Gundam series. Meanwhile, Bandai Namco Pictures will focus on content such as Aikatsu! which are oriented toward families and children.
Bandai Namco has made aggressive plans to expand its production business overseas. It will also strengthen its live event production (including live viewings and video content) and sales of related goods.

So they're treating Gintama as a family/children-oriented show. Hmm. Not sure how to feel about this.
i hope they still adapted shinigami, shogun assasination, and shinsengumi ribbelion arc perfectly, even after splited studio and aired in golden time.
why wouldn't they? the staff is more or less the same, if something would change from this it would be the art/animation

I think shows like Gundam Age and Build Fighters were pushed more by Bandai than Sunrise. That's just conjecture on my part but I feel it was just there to appeal to a younger generation and for selling gunpla.
I'm saying that because Bandai and Sunrise split they will definitely have more time and resources for Gundam and hopefully do more shows like Unicorn and older Gundams. Instead of reinventing the series for a new generation.
Yeah this is why I'm pretty excited for the split. It could be the best thing to happen to Sunrise in a long time.
How can you say that when you haven't watched it yourself? Holy shit, I will never understand why people fanboy this series so much aside from wanting to go against the current.
It's currently airing, and I've been watching it. I'm not updating my list till it's over.....

Lol man. You guys crack me up. Cross Ange has to be one of the ugliest abominations to ever disgrace anime. Its shocking they managed to sell even one disc…. oh lawd Bandai what lows will you not stoop to?
What I find amazing is the amount of haters this series has garnered. I suspect more than half of the people that loathe Cross Ange haven't actually seen it. It is no where near as bad as a lot of people on MAL say it is.

Why would you think this would happen?
If anything doesn't it just mean they have more resources for Gundam in general?

So much profit they can't keep it all in one place, if they can make amazing shows like Cross Ange every season it's no wonder they can't, cross ange 4 life.

I don't think IDOLM@STER is under this umbrella of Bandai Namco. However, Love Live! was what came to my mind when they alluded to the live viewings, especially with their recent concert.
Idolmaster is a Bandai Namco Games property. They created the franchise. Its literally the first name you see in the new animes first episode credits.quote=Hoppy]
Did Accel World get good bd sales or give an adequate boost to novel sales?
No
That's not really accurate. The anime was a solid 8-9K seller that i recall with the first volume actually passing the 10K mark and the year it came out the LN sold over a million copies. The only reason there's no new Accel World already is in the OP. Its Sunrise and they'd rather focus on developing their own IPs which is a luxury not available to most studios adapting LNs and mainly doing contract work. Plus when you have Love Live which is like the hottest IP out there right now and you own it there's almost no incentive to stop and do a job for another company that benefits your end less. Sad reality cause I'd love more Accel World too.
Sunrise also did Horizon on The Middle of Nowhere which by the second season was pretty mucha 20K seller and then they just kind of stopped doing LN adaptations for the same reason as above. They pretty much stopped doing adaptations period though around the same time Gintama is going to be the first in a while that I know of.[/quote]
Yea. It sold well enough to warrant a second season, and the author himself said he's interested in doing one, the problem was with Sunrise having zero time on there hands for that project.

Really? Gintama isn't suitable for youngsters, though.
