It even sold better than what Bleach did on its debut.

My source is Oricon Youtaiju. Oricon Youtaiju publishes a Top 50 Bunko, Top 50 Book, Top 20 Light Novel, Top 10 Light Novel Series, and Top 20 Literature lists every week. Contents of the Top 20 light novel list will most often show up in both the bunko and book lists. Some light novels also show up on the Top 20 Literature list.

I also have a list of links to past sales threads (with more data such as release dates, # Weeks charted, and also the Top 10 Light Novel Series lists) posted in our News Club: http://myanimelist.net/forum/?topicid=737625#msg31846591). Bear in mind we haven't gone further back than December 2013, because it doesn't seem practical to go further back when the past data is already available if you know where to look.

As kuuderes_shadow said, it is a type of book format. We have light novels, where most are published in the bunko format... but we also have light novels which are published in the book format instead, such as the "Monogatari Series".

Then we have some published in bunko format such as "Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou", or book format such as "Manga de Wakaru Nanatsu no Shuukan", but are not actually light novels. However, Manga de Wakaru can now be justified to be included in lists I guess since it will have an anime adaptation now.

Bunko is the book format which most light novels are published in. Which is why it shows up in the names of so many light novel labels.

Here is the data for the previous book... that one was on sale for one less day, but it is better to compare sales after 2 weeks (to make it more even). So clearly this new book has had a boost compared to the previous book, and it appeared back into the rankings as well at almost 94K sales.

For some bizarre reason MAL has never included that series on the weekly rankings. It's one of the only series targetted at a female audience that reliably shows up on the rankings as well...

Yes for Boku no Hero Academia. Pretty good for first volume
and Nanatsu no Taizai domination is still expected

Why is it related to A-1? A-1 is certainly animating it, but I don't see a problem if people gets interested after watching the anime. If you want to how people reward the adaptation, just see the anime sales number which is kinda mediocre so far.

I've never heard of that series yet people are calling it the next naruto already? O.o

Remember the name Boku no Hero Academia then, because apparently the first volume was sold out everywhere so the series is already much more popular than those sales numbers suggest. Nearly top the Jump rankings recently too (came out #2 behind One Piece). Actually just start reading it, because it's pretty good.
