According to Yomiuri Online, twelve students of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) performed an experimental stage play "LIVE ACTION ANIME 2009: MADNESS AT MOKUBA" at Tokyo University of the Arts. The play was written by an associate professor of MIT Ian Condry.

Picture of the performance

The play is one hour long mystery taking place in an imaginary university "Mokuba Institute of Technology". Characters such as giant robots, shinigami, ronin, game otaku dance to express a mixture of reality and anime. Dr. Condry produced the play to show his gratitude to Japanese animation.

I just want to thank all the gods in every religion that I am not smart enough to get into MIT.

Surprises me more that there's otakus at Tokyo University.
12 hours per day for watching anime/ reading manga, 12 hours for studying?

I always thought otakus were too lazy to work so hard on their studies.

MIT is filled with otakus. I have met many when I went on a campus tour last summer.

I want to know the critics of the audience...

I'd imagine otakus' in Mit are the ones responsible for coding filesharing programs... in general... personally.
