Graphic Books Best Seller List (Manga) for the Week Ending 9 May 2009
This weeks ranking showed some new titles in the top ten list. While Naruto still basks in the sun at the top, titles like Black Cat and Skip Beat made an appearance. Also a completely new title called Otomen sneaked in on 10th place. So hopefully we can expect some more changes in the top ten during next week.

1 NARUTO, VOL. 44, by Masashi Kishimoto. (VIZ Media, $7.95.)
2 NARUTO, VOL. 43, by Masashi Kishimoto. (VIZ Media, $7.95.)
3 NARUTO, VOL. 42, by Masashi Kishimoto. (VIZ Media, $7.95.)
4 D. GRAY-MAN, VOL 13, by Katsura Hoshino. (VIZ Media, $7.99.)
5 NARUTO, VOL. 41, by Masashi Kishimoto. (VIZ Media, $7.95.)
6 BLACK CAT, VOL 20, by Kentaro Yabuki. (VIZ Media, $7.99.)
7 NARUTO, VOL. 40, by Masashi Kishimoto. (VIZ Media, $7.95.)
8 SKIP BEAT!, VOLUME 18, by Yoshiki Nakamura. (VIZ Media, $8.99.)
9 FRUITS BASKET, VOL. 22, by Natsuki Takaya. (TokyoPop, $10.99.)

I expect that there will always be Naruto at the top of this list, just because of the reasons stated in previous NYT list posts. But perhaps we can look with greater interest on what happens further down at the list. However the list is still a top ten list so doing a top fifteen list isn't possible, though I wish it was.

I'm not surprised by Naruto. I was at Barnes and Nobles the other day and saw 3 asian kids (2 boys 1 girl) all reading Naruto. I was the only one reading Silver Diamond. D:

For me, I was at Borders an almost all them in the manga seciton were reading Naruto and only I was reading 07-Ghost and Sunshine Sketch.

What a sad place we live in eh? We know Naruto being #1 is unfortunately true in these parts. ;(

I didn't know volume 2 of Otomen was out! I need to go buy it.

I'm glad to see it make top ten, but at the same time very surprised it made it that high.

I am so excited Otomen is on that list!!! Seriously, that is surprising. Not only is it a small shoujo, it's a non-traditional shoujo.

Time for USA to open their eyes and buy other stuff than Naruto then ^^.

May 18, 2009 11:50 AM by Zirgo

I think we all should go to New York, and buy other series that deserves #1.

Naruto's on the list for the 3rd time, and only kids buy them. Westerners......

Will anything remove Naruto from...the entire list? We need more variety because we don't want a blonde ninja in the ranking all the time.

But i have never heard of that otemon thingy.....might go check it out.

For this I am happy.

Since first two entries in the Top10 best seller list are non-existant, this is top1 :P
