For the 100th Anniversary of Tokyo Station, A-1 Pictures is producing a short anime titled Toki wa Meguru: Tokyo Station. The goal of the short anime is to show the wonderful 100 year history of Tokyo station through animation and music. The theme is "family love that surpasses time." Yu Sakai's "Toki wa Meguru" (Time Passes By), the last track on his January album Coming Up Roses, will be used. The short anime will be posted on Tokyo Station's Youtube channel in May.

Synopsis
Misaki, a 25-year-old woman who is soon to be married, finds an old photo taken at Tokyo Station and an old, broken pocket watch from her late father. Her father worked at Tokyo Station during his life and was a very strict man in her memory, but she saw his smile from the old photo that she's never seen before. Misaki, in attempt to have the old pocket watch repaired, discovers that a watch store existed in Tokyo Station in the past.

Seems like this movie/ova will have a nice plot so at least the artwork won't go to waste

I'm surprised they didn't get Makoto Shinkai to do it.

^ I was looking for his name. It's a shame, this seems right up his alley.

Yup, but that's alright.

Sounds very interesting. I'm always open to learning about other countries' histories, and this will be a good gateway for that. If it ever gets subtitled, I'll be sure to watch.
