Japanese Cabinet Office Reports Hatsune Miku

The Cabinet Office of Japanese Government released an online PR magazine "Highlighting JAPAN" March 2009 issue. Among the articles presenting the diplomatic activities and the new policy of the education, a character VOCALOID Hatsune Miku was reported as a virtual idol.

They praised it as a revolutionary software and emphasized that the creations of the amateur users triggered the popularity.

People do it for anime, manga, video games, and even novels, I dont see how its weird at all :P

I believe you mean idol, and Miku, Hatsune is an Idol that won't age, grow up, have kids, but on the other hand, is fully manipulatable, she isn't and never will be 21 years old.

The NEW SHAPE of Education (PDF) part of the site is amazing. Makes me wonder why American school are gay and not fun.
