Soul Eater Manga To End In August

It has been reported that Atsushi Ookubo's Soul Eater manga will end its run in two more chapters. If there is no break, it will end in the September issue of Shonen Gangan Magazine (which comes out in August).

Yes, new anime so I can get to watch it, and hopefully it's not really a generic brotherhood (that depends on the manga though, so... is it?)

Feels pretty sad that this is ending, its not really a top top notch manga but its still a great manga and that Maka "form" in chapter 111 was just godlike, too bad we dont get to see more of that. Well it had a good run, thanks for all the entertainment Atsushi Ōkubo, good luck with your future works!!

That's the beginning.
In the manga there are no 'eggs of Kishin', the shinigami just has a list of people he wants dead (who'd guess). And many other little things that change the manga by quite a lot.

Hopefully they will do a restart of the anime once the manga ends. This series is criminally underrated. I enjoyed Soul Eater much more than FMA, it be awesome if it got a proper adaptation without the anime only ending.

Well this is good news because now it means that Bones or some other studio can start a reboot of that horrid anime. Well, it was good up until around episode 24 where they ran out of manga to follow and just bullshitted the rest of the way. I hope they can make a proper 52 anime and I'm sure it would be awesome if it followed the original manga.

Old thread, I know, but I just discovered this news (slow me)...

I will surely feel bad that one of the 4 manga I am following will end. I hope for a cool adaptation as well, but it would probably not happen anytime soon. Nonetheless, what I am really hoping for is an even better project by Ookubo.

I hope Bones does a reboot. (Just hope that they don't rush the first episodes like in Brotherhood)

37 chapters before diverging. (And I think it was around the 37th episode)

How many episodes will depend on if they start this new anime after the 37th (?) episode of the first series (a bit like Hayate no Gotoku Second Season starting after the 25/50 episode of the first season) or if they make an entire reboot.

Maybe 75-100 episodes would be enough.

Thank you for answering my question. I don't think it's too late for them to make a sequel like Hayate no Gotoku's. Though if the budget or producing company changes then a full reboot might be nice. But Idk if I want to sit throught 37 episodes of something I've already seen, they better keep the soundtrack.

A decade's worth of content isn't bad at all. I might give it a read some day as I remember the anime ending pretty terribly.
