Movie and OVA of Girls und Panzer Announced

According to the official Twitter account, an anime movie of Girls und Panzer was announced to be premiered in 2014. It will be a brand new story. An OVA featuring vs. Anzio team game will also be released.

Also, it's too early to see the final product seeing as the game will be available June next year.

The key idea is that you can navigate inside the real town of Ooarai. At least this is the most important piece of information to me.

I'm more interested in the PzIV, but that thing is huge so I better figure out where I can find the space for that soon.

It does not say but I would think that the PzIV, being so much bigger than the figma, will be released on its own. The parts that come with Miho are small enough to come with the package, but if the PzIV is released on its own it will come with its own cupola (which may not be detachable).

Basically it says this is the setup used in this summer's event with a 1/12 scale PzIV-D tank and the Ankou team line-up of figma's. They are all announced and are in production line but the release dates are not known yet.

Sorry, I misread what you wrote. Actually as you said earlier when it said Winter 2014 for the movie it could mean late 2014, even though when it is a TV series Winter always means January (start of winter cour). Given the work required to make a movie is considerably more than a OVA, I am inclined to think that the movie is meant to be released in late 2014 instead of early 2014, and this will mean the movie comes after the OVA.

What does it not make sense? The Anzio battle happened in the timeline of the TV series while the movie seems to be like a sequel (the production already said there will be new place in Ooarai to be destroyed in the movie). From timeline point of view it makes sense that the OVA came before the movie.

Also, i hope you can do more than just fight in Ooarai against the other tanks (hippo, rabbit, the lot) in the game. How about the tournament? Will we see that? And how do we control the team? Maybe have the ability to set a list of orders which the team follows?

^I think that the OVA that will be on the DVD might be the Anzio Battle OVA since it's also scheduled for Spring 2014.
