PS3 Game Senjyou no Valkyria To Be a TV Anime [Updated on Dec 6]

According to Dengeki news, SEGA's PlayStation 3 RPG game "Senjyou no Valkyria" will be animated. The production company is A-1 Pictures ("Kannagi", "Ookiku Furikabutte"). It will be aired from the spring 2009.

"Senjyou no Valkyria" is a simulation RPG game and was released on April 24, 2008 exclusively for PlayStation 3. The English title is "Valkyria Chronicles".

According to New Type magazine, the production staff are as follows:
Director: Yamamoto Yasutaka (episode director of "Ookiku Furikabutte", "xxxHOLiC - Kei")
Series organizer: Yokote Michiko ("Nabari no Ou")
Character designer: Watanabe Atsuko (ED animator of "Vampire Knight Guilty", episode art director of "Onegai My Melody Sukkiri♪")
Production company: A-1 Pictures Inc.

The game looks awesome, the anime should be awesome. My only question is do I have to play it to understand the anime? Not having a PS3 sux...

Yay, now I'm happy. I like the game so much and wished so hard for an anime. And there it is. <3
Since the A-1 Pictures production company, I have no doubt that animation will be good.
I'm just curious how they'll assemble the story.

BTW:
I instantly made a club dedicated to the game and anime.

When one of the Game Show officials had accidentally mixed the Valkyria Chronicles into their Sony PSP trailers, I thought I will get to play the game, but then it appears to be a mistake. Luckily, there is now an anime on the Valkyria Chronicle story.

Its quite an interesting one, except that the ps3 is a little too expensive.

But I doubt they can top Tales of the Abyss animation?

If I had a PS3 I'd at least rent the game. Story looks good, and I like the art. This will have to go on my Plan to Watch list.
