Canadian Singer Wins Grand Prize in Japan Anime Song Audition

According to OCN news, a Canadian amateur singer Catherine St Onge won the grand prize in the 2nd Japan Anime Song Contest. She was selected from 3,186 entries mostly Japanese. The last grand prize winner Kita Shuuhei has already made his debut with the OP song of PERSONA -trinity soul- and he also sang the OP song of Natsume Yuujinchou. Her first song will be shown in a new anime to be aired next year.

She sang "Silly-go-round" (.hack//Roots) in the first round and "Adesso e Fortuna" (Record of Lodoss War OVA) in the second.

Wow! Kudos to her! I think that's amazing. I also think it's fantastic that the judges looked at talent rather than ethnicity :D

Yeah, like I said, after checking the top 10 and knowing she was in the top 10, I'm pretty sure it's her. This really did make my day though. :3 I guess since I lack extravagant dreams like this, I love seeing people with such dreams succeed.

I'm pretty sure it's her... After checking the top 10, she was the only foreigner at all. And it sure did look like her. Glad to see at least one other person on here has some idea who this is. XD

I didn't know Kita Shuuhei made his debut because of this contest.. nice. I love the Persona -Trinity Soul- OP.

Her nationality had nothing to do with it :P T'was just her talent.
