Little Busters!, the most recent visual novel by Visual Art's/Key, the company who made the original games for the anime Kanon, Air, and Clannad, reached the top of Japan's sales charts for PC games in its first week of release, beating out the latest Melty Blood. The rankings are as follows:

1. Little Busters! (KEY)
2. Sim People: Expansion Collection 3 (EA Games)
3. Melty Blood Act Cadenza Ver.B (Ecole)
4. Final Fantasy XI All-in-One Pack 2006 (Square Enix)
5. Monster Hunter Frontier (Capcom)

Little Busters was released on July 27, 2007, and is an all-ages visual novel incorporating some elements from fighting games. Little Busters is said to be the final project of Jun Maeda (scriptwriter for previous Key games). Rumor has it Itaru Hinoue (art director), and Shinji Orito (music composer) will be leaving soon as well.

In other news, Namco's The IdolM@ster, of which the anime idolM@ster Xenoglossia is based off of, remains at the top of Japan's charts for the Xbox 360 at #2.

It was alright, nothing special at least. Though I didn't really enjoy any of Key's other games apart from Planetarian either.

Does look nice.

Little Busters does look nice. I see why it's #1.
I'm still surprised Final Fantasy XI is still up there. It's been awhile since it has come out.
