OVA of Manga 'Kimi no Iru Machi' Announced

According to Weekly Shonen Magazine, an OVA of manga Kimi no Iru Machi was announced to be released next Spring.

Scenario: Murakami Momoko (episode script of "Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream")
Character Design: Chayama Ryusuke ("Eve no Jikan")
General Animation Director: Takata Akira ("Natsume Yuujinchou San")
Production Studio: Tatsunoko Productions

The local government of Shobara city will be participate in the production of the OVA. The city is the birthplace of the manga author Seo Koji.

Before I even read this manga, I had a feeling I was gonna hate it cuz the characters were gonna piss me off and I'm pretty lax on my judgement of characters compare to most people. Low and behold, I was right.

Eba is what makes people not want to read the story. At least Asuka had sports going for her what does Eba have? Oh right being a bitch.

I completely agree with you. I follow the manga mainly out of habit and the unrealistic hope that he would actually end up with Asuka... Now I just want to see how it ends since I've followed it for so long.

The only character in this nice pile of shit I hate more than Yuzuki (Eba) would be her sister, and even then Rin's redeemed herself these last chapters while Yuzuki just continue to be a totall fucking bitch.

To make a full scale anime of this would/should be seriously insulting to anyone that actually has any intelligence and morals. Worst main pairing in anything I've ever read/watched.

Wait till the manga is finished, so we don't get some half assed ending. That said, I could care regardless. The rage this manga contains is not healthy for discussion.

It's pretty interesting that despite the severe criticism the later half of the manga has been receiving, the manga sales have been not only consistent, but in some cases, even increased considerably:

30, *27,634 *64,218 Kimi no Iru Machi vol.4

It's really interesting to see that even though a lot of people claim that the story already "jumped the shark," sales data doesn't seem to reflect this.

It's pretty interesting that a great part of Western fandom considers GE and 'Kimi no Iru Machi' to be kind of "related" since it seems that you can't have a topic about 'Kimi no Iru Machi' without somebody mentioning GE and vice versa. But when it comes to sales, I always see 'Kimi no Iru Machi' to be in the top manga sales rating consistently, while I have never seen sales data for GE, ever. And I have never seen GE even appear in any list of manga bestsellers, unlike 'Kimi no Iru Machi' which makes me think that GE shouldn't even be considered in the same league as 'Kimi no Iru Machi' (even though both mangas are serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine) so I seriously doubt that we'll ever get to see any kind of anime adaptation for GE. In fact, I still wonder how that manga can still get serialized in Weekly Shounen Magazine without being cancelled considering that the title is serialized alongside with serious bestsellers like Mahou Sensei Negima, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Air Gear that rarely fail to be listed in the top manga sales ranking.

love to see the OVA, if its going to be like Natsume Yuuchinju animation i guess it will be good. But i don't know about the story they will use on the OVA. The manga was really good (in my opinion) at the early chapters.. not until the main character Mr. X jump from one girl Ms. Y to another girl Ms. Z to another Ms. B to another then went back to Ms. Y , but i still like it though www! xD

OVA is just a teaser. We'll have our Kimi no Rage Machi TV series in due time.
