NicoNico Simulcasts Summer 2011 Series

According to their website, NicoNico, the English version of the popular Japanese video website Nico Nico Douga, is set to simulcast 6 summer series with English subtitles, right after they air in Japan.

The 6 titles include:

Blood-C - Thursday at 10:25am. Available in: US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Maji Love 1000% (simulcasted as "Uta no Prince Sama") - Saturday at 8:30am. Available in: US, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel: Kyun Kyun Tokimeki Paradise!! (simulcasted as "Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise") - Monday at 11:15am. Available in the US.
Itsuka Tenma no Kuro Usagi (simulcasted as "A Dark Rabbit has Seven Lives") - Friday at 10:35am. Available in the US.
R-15 - Saturday at 10:30am. Available in the US.
Dantalian no Shoka (simulcasted as "The Mystic Archives of Dantalian") - Friday at 10:53am. Available in the US.

Note: All times are for the US West Coast.

Each episode will be free for one week. After that, there will be a one-time subscription fee of $0.25 which covers all of the simulcasts' episodes and NicoNico's membership services.

And by the time the 720p CR subs are out, there will already be fansubs out with higher quality video

Kinda makes all of the NN shows that CR picked up pointless, at least to the more ardent anime fans

On top of that, NicoNico staff don't seem to show the greatest understanding of English. I hope that's not the same when it comes to their translators.

Currently this website is pretty much bad for everyone. Quality is only 360p, and it causes 4 CR shows simulcasts to be delayed by a week. Whether you watch at CR or not, this means slower 720p subs...

I'll wait until the Fall season to try out their subscription deal. Hopefully they'll have a better line-up by then.

On second thought, I'll pass completely ^_-
