According to the twitter of Gintama director Takamatsu Shinji, there were personnel changes in TV Tokyo that led to anime producer Azuma Fukashi leaving the anime production department and being promoted to the counselor of the management strategy office. Azuma had been in charge of the production of TV Tokyo's anime programs since 1999. Takamatsu said that Azuma had protected the Gintama anime from internal and external pressures and his promotion was totally unexpected for the staff of Gintama.

Azuma's major programs
Mugen no Ryvius
Doki Doki Densetsu: Mahoujin Guru Guru
Scryed
Shaman King
Gintama
D.Gray-man
Naruto: Shippuuden
Vampire Knight
Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's

is he the reason Gintama run for 4 years? if so, Good for him, bad for fans.

nevertheless Good News is Good News.

He had nothing to do with the original series. That was Takamatsu Shinji producing/directing it. He's only worked on it since it came back

What does the production do anyway? Are they important? If not, then good. But if it is, then there's chance Gintama will get screwed. LOL I hope not though.

I doubt it affects it much. He doesn't do the day to day stuff, just oversees it and approves stuff.

I second this.
Gintama was always that one series that trolled everyone and everything and got away with it. It would be a great loss if that was to change .__.
