Moe Anthropomorphism of Rifle Manga 'Upotte!!' To Be Animated [Update Nov 26]

According to the cover note of the manga, Tennouji Kitsune's manga Upotte!! was announced to be getting an anime adaptation. The characters of the manga represent assault rifles such as M14, M16A4, SG550, G3A3.

Manga Upotte!! had been serialized in Young Ace magazine since July 2009 and it has been transferred to Monthly Shonen Ace and 4Coma nano Ace magazines this year. 4Coma nano Ace are carrying four-frame edition of the manga titled "Upotte!! Nano".

After reading some of the source material I'm cautiously optimistic for the anime. The character designs are definitely better for the anime than the original manga. Plus, it'll be awesome to see it animated.

1. This is NOT a 4-Panel Koma.
2. There is real information about guns. You can tell a lot of research was put into this and the author truly love guns. Gun porn too.
3. Has some cool squadron based action.
4. Relatively little Fanservice. (Knowing Xebec, it'll be exaggerated unfortunately...)
5. A likable cast of girls. Archetypal, but not annoying.
6. Main male character is not a wuss, he's pretty cool. He's an adult too.

It's all on the director/Xebec really, the source material is not too shabby.

Doggy Poo, although cute, actually looks like a doggy poo. I'm talking about about a doggy poo who doesn't look like a doogy poo at all, but looks like a moe girl or a bishounen instead.

I didn't realize that the manga was popular enough to make an adaption.

Should be fun reading the comments once again nitpicking on the accuracy of the information the mangaka uses.

I can kind of understand this and Nyaruko-san, but cockroaches and charcoal? Who's going to watch that? I guess maybe an entomologist might watch Cockroach Girl, but how many entomologists are otaku or even watch anime? And Binchou-tan...just why.

Well, I'll probably end up watching this just to see what a trainwreak it is. I do have a bit of a passing interest in guns, too.
