The story to this manga was rather predictable but enjoyable nonetheless. While full of fanservice this manga was just enjoyable. The characters were pretty dimensional and you could empathize well with them. This comes in a close second (after Ichigo100%) for my favorite romance manga and I would recommend anybody giving this classic the time of their day to read it~

I was so disappointed to find out this is the "prologue" for some random galge. I really wanted a concrete ending for this story since it had such a cool premise. This manga could've gone on for hundreds of chapters since the universe which it was set in was so massive and detailed. The characters were great and this really deserves more that it was given. I will forever be disappointed :(

This had so much potential! Great art, great characters, fun and interesting. It is similar to Dagashi Kashi, but with more focus on just fun and romance. I feel like Bandai Kaname wasn't really trying to sell me anything while I was reading... Either way. It ended really abruptly and was super unsatisfying. I hate open endings.

Beelzebub
Basically a gag-manga that followed something reminescent of a plot. Oga never really lost a serious fight and was OP as hell throughout the entire series, but that was okay. The manga was super shounen style but it relied more on how badass Oga was as well as the randomness of the humor that was sprinkled throughout the series. Overall it was a fun read, for the longest time this was in my top weekly manga that I read. I am glad I picked it up when I did, my only complaint lies with the ending. Many characters are left in obscurity and details that seem important (past war? Beel's eldest brother? Romance?) are never even touched but are referenced to. Solid 7 or 8 if you dont care too much about details.

Neat setting but I feel that the story was lacking. This guy was the author of spice and wolf so I started reading this, but doesnt feel up to par with his other works. The ending was really cliche and almost feels as though nothing was gained from reading this. The characters weren't that deep and the entire thing was predictable. I am also disappointed in the unresolved connections in the story, mainly the side characters who were never really flushed out properly. ~

I don't know if I would reread or rewatch the Dragon Ball series myself personally, but Dragon Ball got me into the world of anime and manga, so I rate it highly based on nostalgia, but also because it hit a lot of the right notes when appealing to its primary audience (children-mid teens). Not a complicated story that's just plain fun. There are bad-ass heroes and bad-ass villains wiith loads of action.

Really rushed ending, but there were loads of tension that made me afraid to turn each page. There were some cheesy moments and the gratuitous amounts of fanservice and the "If I save her maybe she'll have sex with me" mentality were major downsides but overall not a bad read. Definitely better than the hundreds of other garbage manga I've read~

Starts off interesting and I feel like the story had a lot of potential, but the character reactions to death and the plot twists around them are pretty unrealistic. Gekkou
Really captivating story. I ended up reading this in one go! I originally picked this up because it had been recommended to me as similar to Oregairu. That is definitely wrong. There are a few superficial similarities between the protagonists but they are completely different when it comes to their thought processes and personalities. I don't want to spoil too much of this novel but I will say that the murder/mystery aspect of this really wanes over the length of the novel and it begins to focus more on the characters themselves. Of the characters the only ones that really matter are Tsukimori, Nonomiya and Konan. The rest really are irrelevant and don't even get proper closure. The story evolves into a reflection of how the characters see themselves and grow as people, using the murder/mystery as a pretense for said development. This is especially evident with Nonomiya as he starts of more adolescent and susceptible to immaturity, more bored and cynical, unsure of the situation he finds himself in, but later realizes his convictions no matter how bittersweet and begins acting in a more mature and rationale manner. I definitely think the ending could've been a bit more flushed out but its alright since the journey and final revelations at the end make the story more worthwhile. I do agree with another discussion I heard that the main characters seem to throw out normal senses of morality and it is never questioned or doubted by the author. There is also the rivalry between Konan and Nonomiya which seemingly escalates for no reason and frankly doesn't make as much sense to me. The romance also seems more sudden to me. I think it is because as great as the dialogue was, it was hard to visualize the reactions and expressions of the characters. All in all great story, would recommend. ~

Hayate no Gotoku!
Slightly ashamed by how long I followed this manga, but I finished it anyways. I feel like this manga is not an 8, and closer to a 5... but I am partial to it because I read the first 300 chapters as they originally released and just binged the last 200 many years later when I had the time. It's a semi-serious rom-com. There are a lot of great girls in this manga but none of them win. Worst girl actually wins, which is why I hesitated rating it this high. Despite how long this series is, the ending is really unsatisfying. A lot of characters are never properly developed, plot points never addressed, and some things necessary for the series to end are just pushed off screen and never mentioned.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama!
Its definitely a fun manga to read. The manga is definitely a shoujo manga but gives off a rather unusual appeal towards the male demographic. I am glad the manga ended where it did and did NOT make the mistake of throwing too much NTR and whatnot. The manga was also a bit realistic in its expectations. While the boy got the girl in the end, not all of the problems were solved. There were still things that the MCs wished they could've done which were not achievable. Not everyone was really a good guy in the end either. There were some really heinous characters that stayed that way even during the ending of this manga. The comedy is also a bonus. Overall a decent read and a much better alternative to Kimi no Iru Machi. ~

This manga will go down in history as a classic. I wasn't a big fan of the ending, I know a lot of people were but to me I didn't get what I wanted (:p) and it felt rushed. Kanojo ni Naru Hi
Kinda meh. Interesting premise but the characters arent very interesting and the story feels rushed. The author could've done a lot with the story but instead went with a more cliched resolution and really all the drama is predictable. This manga could've been so much more with a strong message towards the youth of the world towards the true meaning of love and gender boundries...but instead falls flat on its face- unable to really even make a compelling romance. Art is good, and the "universe" of the story is what makes this worth reading, not the actual story itself.

So much potential in this story but it just ended up being a stereotypical shoujo manga. I really got "ToraDora" vibes from this manga. Kimi no Iru Machi
I followed this manga for so damn long. This manga started off great but eventually went downhill big time. Most everyone I've spoken to agrees that the girl that was chosen was the wrong girl due to her own actions. The MC was a joke and so was the romance after the "Tokyo Arc". I could go on and on, about how this manga could've been the greatest shit since Ichigo100% but I will refrain from doing so. Know this, the last 100-120 chapters are nothing but filler. The story begins to suck around chapter 80-90 and after chapter 100 begins its descent into being terrible..but if you get into it YOU CANT JUST QUIT! I don't know why, I tried dropping this manga but never could...either way its over now. This manga relied upon the same misunderstandings, NTR, and childish mentality for most of its running. There are many better manga than this, for example Ichigo100% and Ai Yori Aoshi. I am glad its over but I am not happy at all on how this manga devolved into pandering to the audience (to the point where even the audience got sick of it) and meaningless plot twists and filler. ~

Love So Life
I'm typically not a huge fan of shoujo manga but Love so Life was truly classic shoujo done perfectly. The plot summary doesn't really do this manga justice because truly the read was heart warming and uplifting no matter what type of mood you were in. The story and characters are thoroughly flushed out and develop throughout the journey. The central themes in Love so Life are discovering your own meaning to the word "family" and growing up. Honestly there isn't any plot twist, or crazy change during the story, just a simple plot with well written characters. I can't say I'm a fan of the stereotypical 'big-eyed' shoujo drawings, but they are part of the package and this is true for most shoujo manga. Really the the ending isn't anything too unpredictable so the quality of this piece really stems from the journey there. My only complaints were that despite having a very well written cast, not everyone was given a proper resolution and the last few chapters felt quite rushed. Though it is a let down that it ended, I suppose all good things must eventually come to an end.

Great premise, creepy sibling love pairing though...Looking forward to a more background on the MC and his mysterious powers. LNs are already out and far ahead of the manga, but it is hard for me to follow the translations without a lot of visual indicators just because of the poor descriptions in magical abilities and all the characters that are introduced, even temporarily. Mayo Chiki!
Not a bad tale at all honestly. None of the characters were too obnoxious and the main protagonist stuck to his morals til the end. The best part of this manga is that it had a decisive ending and didn't just end in ambiguous harem form. he picks 1 girl at the end. While this manga was good i don't think it was amazing, the story was quite predictable and a lot of the chapters felt repetitive. I wish that the mangaka had more of a romance dilemma as despite appearing competitive, none of the other girls were really competition. The art was good and this manga has an anime adaptation. Read this if you want a conclusive ending to the anime~

Naruto
This might have been the very first manga I read in earnest on a weekly basis. This was a crazy long journey for me, a manga that I followed for over a decade! This manga has a bit of an emotional connection to me as I was so invested in it (out of obligation near the end but still). I would say this manga defined a generation of otakus in the West. So many people were introduced to the world of anime/manga through Naruto just as Dragonball had in the 80s/90s. Almost every convention I attended between 2004-2012 was dominated by Naruto cosplay. This manga really will go down in the history books as one of the most successful and popular to have ever existed.
Now, while I am greatly disappointed in the ending, I have to remember the journey there. For me remembering the journey there is honestly remembering all the forum debates and conventions, etc - the real life interactions with the series. Objectively speaking this manga was kinda third rate. With the exception of its art there wasn't a lot to this manga that I would say was "good". The first half of the series wasn't too bad, rather generic shounnen honestly, but the second half (after the timeskip) had a HUGE drop in quality. The story was mediocre, it relied heavily of convenient plot devices that made no sense, sudden character changes or simply ignored previously laid groundwork in the universe. Speaking of the universe, the Naruto universe is HUGE. There is so much to the world of Naruto but so little of it is ever explained or not given more than a line or two. There are many characters who prove to be important who are just discarded and never given attention to again. This is something that happens to a lot of other series, but Naruto had 15 years of publication to extrapolate on all of this and did not.The story itself never has a concrete villain as every villain ends up switching sides or just being a puppet of another villain in some way of the other. The final villain doesn't even appear til the final fight and comes out of no-where with BS reasoning. Most of the important characters are super 1-dimensional and while the manga starts off as a shounnen and ends as a shounnen, a lot of the in-between was not shounnen in the least! I think this is a huge reason why a lot of people disliked the ending. The series matured with its audience, more or less, but then had the biggest cop-out shounnen ending. I think a lot of it was due to the author probably just getting tired of the series after 15 years but it leaves a sour taste.

Anyway I digress. I would recommend that anybody with the time or interest in a series on a scale like this to read this. I would avoid watching the anime since the anime is so full of worthless feel-good filler content. I thank Kishimoto for the pleasure of reading this series (I know I couldn't write a series like this for a year let alone 15!). This series really did define a generation and I look forward to what the future of manga/anime holds. ~

Naruto Gaiden: Nanadaime Hokage to Akairo no Hanatsuzuki
I think this series was only made to give closure to the main series. It shows the new generation of ninjas, all the couples that happened, and wraps up the story on most of the main characters from the main series. Other than that it was really mediocre. The plot felt really haphazard with the main cast jumping all over the place, near instantaneously, and a completely lackluster villain. Seriously they compared Shin to Kaguya and Madara..seriously? He was basically just zetsu with sharingan. His motive was some revenge but why? More importantly why wait all these years? He was a big turd ball with no real depth. He provides no suspense whatsoever. Sarada not believing that she was Sakura's daughter is silly, considering she is basically a Sakura clone with sharingan. Perhaps that was intentional, I don't know. Then after the whole story harps on "familial bonds are more than just blood based, they are about love and connections....etc" They have to reassure the audience that Sarada is in fact Sakura's biological kid? What's the message you are sending here? Argh, I'm just tired of this Naruto universe and was disappointed by this uninspired installment. A must read if you were able to stick through with the main series, but don't expect too much~

Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge
Ignore the weird name because this is honestly one of the best stories I have ever read. Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge is a rather short story but tells a incredibly deep story. The story shows us of how short and fragile human life is, but also reminds us of how bright and enjoyable it can be. Despite the seriousness of the plot it still has well timed comedic relief and even fanservice on par with the Monogatari Series. The art is very crisp with well defined characters and settings, not the best art ever but still top notch. Never before have I been so impressed with a manga such as Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge and I definitely recommend reading this!

Nisekoi
Another one of the "epic" (along the lines of TWGOK, or Kimi no Iru Machi) manga to finally conclude. There is a lot to be said about Nisekoi but firstly this manga really was a slog to get through. I read this manga religiously from when it was first translated to around chapter 146 and then stopped until it was finally finished. This manga suffers from the same problem Kimi no Iru Machi suffered from - there is too much filler. Nisekoi is actually worse. Probably half of the 230 chapters are straight filler that contribute little to character development or plot progression. This manga is a harem but the MC does choose a girl and there is a conclusion given to the entire cast. The best girl wars were entertaining and will probably continue for years to come. Honestly it was a bit obvious how Nisekoi ended (since for the series the general formula whenever romantic progression started was for two of the characters to be interrupted when they were about to confess until the point where another girl stole his heart). Even though there are a lot of obvious flaws (a lot of badly timed/weirdly placed humor, generic rom-com adventures, way too much filler, and inhuman levels of obliviousness) Nisekoi was a great source of entertainment. There were genuine moments in this manga that pulled at your heart and times where you had an honest laugh. It is difficult for me to rate this lower because I have been invested in it for so long...but honestly Nisekoi shouldn't score over a 6. I really can't recommend reading the whole thing unless you are willing to read over 100 chapters of shonen/rom-com filler for a predictable resolution.

Sakurasaku Syndrome
Not a bad series at all, just ruined by a sudden ending (likely due to the comic not raking in $$$). I do think that the main characters progressively become more unbearable through their actions and thoughts. I understand the fact that they are young and childish is a big part of the story nut, some of their thoughts and behaviors are cringe worthy. I wish the ending was more defined and thought through. It should have tied up the loose ends with all the side characters as there were many and perhaps given us a glimpse of their future when the graduate (considering that was a main theme in the story!!!).

Interesting manga I'd say. The artwork is pretty good, with smooth and defined lines, crisp characters and fight scenes. However in the end Zaix10 is really just a gag manga with every chapter being a different side story following lots of different characters. They all nonsensically tie into one another in some form or another. The ending was also crazy abrupt. There isn't any logic in this universe either but that adds to the comedic value. All in all a fun manga that you could read to pass the time. Its really not worth any literary merit, just fun time killer manga. The ending is crazy abrupt and senseless but I guess that fits the theme well~
