Yami no Koe
Glyceride (aka Greased) is in Shiver. This an extremely sick gross out body horror type of thing. One of Ito's all time best. 10/10.
The rest of the stories are in Smashed. They're all really solid, although I don't think any are all-time classics, except for the aforementioned Greased. |

Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection: Ayatsuri Yashiki
Second-hand Record (aka Used Record) is in Shiver. This is a solid Ito story with a good setting and mysterious object to hook the reader in. (8/10)
House of the Marionettes (aka Marionette Mansion) is in Shiver. This is a great weird and creepy idea. It's a little longer than the typical Ito short, which is nice- the story has a little time to develop. I think it ends a little abruptly and a little more could have been done with it but it's still very good. 8/10 Where the Sandman Lives (aka Den of the Sleep Demon) is in Deserter |

Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection: Kao Dorobou
The Hanging Balloons (aka Hanging Blimp) is in Shiver. This is a really strange and creepy idea. It's basically unexplained and has a grim ending- both of which work well. 10/10.
My Dear Ancestors (aka Honored Ancestors) is in Shiver. Face Burgler (aka Face Thief) is in Deserter. Simple but solid concept executed well with a nice gross ending. Not sure what else I want from Ito. 8/10 |

Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection: Namekuji Shoujo
Coldness (aka Shiver) is in Shiver. This has a great body horror element and is the making of a top tier Ito story- it feels like it could have been extended over several chapters and it's a little rushed feeling (a common trait of Ito's short stories). 8/10
Bio House is in Deserter. This is a pure gross out story, very simple but I really dig it. 8/10 |

Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection: Souichi no Noroi Nikki
Fashion Model is in Shiver. This is a very creepy one- for some reason the premise of finding a hideous model in a fashion magazine really works. Sort of a Twilight Zone type of idea. 10/10

Itou Junji Kyoufu Manga Collection: Tunnel Kitan
Long Dream is in Shiver. This is a great premise- I've always liked the idea that a tremendous amout of time could pass in one world while very little passes in another- examples might be in a dream, Chronicles of Narnia, or traveling close to light speed. This is a great horror take on that idea. 10/10
