An all-boys boarding school deep in the mountains where love unfolds. Despite the brimming sexual desire, the overly awkward love story hooks you in!
First year Toono transfers from Tokyo to the all-boys boarding school deep in the mountains, "Mori Moori Private School." The friendly Yaguchi who calls out to him becomes his only friend, but his dislike of sports makes him join the most laid-back looking photography club instead of Yaguchi's soccer club. However, the photography club is in name only, and is actually nicknamed the "Yarichin Bitch Club," filled with colourful seniors.
In contrast to the troubled Toono, Kajima, who joined the club at the same time, is completely unphased and even slips a confession to Toono into the confusion. Toono himself thinks Yaguchi is cute, but Yaguchi finds himself blushing around Kajima and stuff happens.
Furthermore, complications arise between the seniors…
I'm not a reviewer of any sort but here's my opinion:
Ogeretsu Tanaka is one of my favourite yaoi authors and her works have great art, well thought out plots and are very explicit and don't censor anything. Yarichin Bitch Club is no exception.
The plot is unique and you get to know and love each of the characters as the story moves forward. It has light hearted and hilarious moments similar to the comedy that I found in Tanaka's other works, and surprising plot twists that gives you a deeper insight into each characters personality and deepens the plot that I thought at first was
just a fun little manga but turns out to be a lot more as it progresses.
I would like to see more from other characters perspectives as so far the manga has shown mostly Yuu's, Takashi's and Yacchan's perspective and Tamura's and Yuri's story in the dj: Yarichin Bitch-bu dj-Wa! The manga is only 8.6 chapters in.
So far, I love the series and it's a great series for those who are fans of Tanaka's works and those who like very explicit yaoi.
I've never reviewed before, but for this manga, I HAD to. So long as you're not looking for something super serious, it is SO MUCH FUN.
There's drama and a touch of angst here and there, but mostly it is ridiculous smut, banter, comedy of errors, and even a surprising amount of feels. You will ship some ships very hard, witness a lot of characters ALSO very hard, and laugh even harder (which considering how this is literally a group of dude who have sex, is damn hard).
The story is fun, fairly generic, but with enough unique, ridiculous, hilarious twists that it works wonderfully. Up
to Volume 2 Chapter 11, it even has some drama worked in there which has me desperately awaiting more.
Our protagonist is kind of annoying to begin with, but you warm up to him as he gets over the shock of joining a photography club that turns out to basically be a brothel. I suppose I, too, might be a bit pissy were that to happen to me. Especially since if I didn't screw someone within a month, I'd be gang-raped.
That is the primary word of warning: The word rape is thrown around a lot in this manga, but it is not meant in the criminal sense of rape. You never get the feeling that someone is doing anything against their will, or that they do not enjoy. It actually feels ALOT more consensual than most yaoi I've read.
The characters pretty much all LOVE sex, joke and make comments about it all the time, and it's a surprisingly sex-positive, open-minded manga. Characters are into all sorts, and though sometimes they're teased for it, they're never ostracised.
Overall it's cute, smutty fun with enough feels and depth-of-character to actually make you care as well. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is well accustomed to yaoi, but is looking for something a little more fun, and little less typical uke-dominated-by-seme :)
