Wow, absolutely amazing slice of life manga about cute girl, cute Ayakashi girl.

The story is very simple, our main girl can see Ayakashi that are stuff like cat girl, fox girl, snow woman, and so she live/take care of them in an old house.

It's totally episodic, if you like slice of life this is it's ultimate incarnation.

The girls have really cute personality but they especially shine with the outstanding art the author have, be it crying or smiling the girl are always the cutest thing you've ever seen.

So yeah i highly recommend this to fan of cute girl and slice of life, only 6 chapter in it's already one of my favorite manga of the genre !

This manga is a refreshing and cute slice of life with some comedy in it, which makes it interesting.

Slightly has a Shoujo-ai vibe. Very recommended, need more manga like this. I hope this manga gets an anime adaptation ^^

For those who enjoys slice of life manga, this definitely worth to read!

I honestly adore this manga.
It's such a sweet Slice Of Life mixed in with Supernatural and some slight Shoujo Ai themes ( Nothing big)

I like all the characters and feel they're all special or different in their own way. Kuuko and Nene are probably my favorites if you don't include Mahoro ( MC )

The relationship between Kuuko and Yukime I love. Their story together is Nice, Sad and charming. It's usually always sad when Goddesses start losing their power. The story of Yukime and how her obsession with Kuuko lead her to die alone in the snow of the temple is genuinely sad and charming. It's made all the better cause it has a happy ending of them being together ( This is really the only part that I'd say might be Yuri) I like the idea of the two of them being together.

Sometimes I felt it could get annoying how some characters like Kii are always wanting food. This was mostly a thing near the start of the story.

I like Mahoro. She doesn't come across as obnoxious and I do feel for her now having to be the manager of a house of spirits with an Unsupportive father. I hope we get more of this.

There is one thing that I can say I dislike with certainty, That is what the story did to one of the girls we barely saw ( I can't remember her name really) Story just writes her off as there is a rumor she's pregnant and is gonna quit school. She does quit school and I'm lead to believe she is Pregnant. I just don't like this. It's honestly sad and not in the way of Kuuko and Yukime's story. I think it would've been interesting if she was an eventual friend or recurring character.

I think it'd be nice if there was a character that has always doubted Mahoro's abilities and later on they become friends.

I think this is just overall a good story and hope we get more. I can defiantly see this as an anime and hope we get more of it. The story does do good sad moments and it's honestly entertaining seeing the MC deal with them. I'd say this might even be 10/10 material.

Miyatsuka Mahoro has always been able to see and communicate with spirits, known as ayakashi. After her grandmother's death, she takes over the caretaking duties of a house filled with those spirits.

The chapters of Ayakashi Ko are largely stand-alone, loosely tied together by the cast, and occasionally, past events. It's a fluffy slice-of-life story filled with likable characters and heartwarming tales.

The art is rather simplistic, never going into too much detail either in the characters themselves, or the backgrounds. But this isn't necessarily a bad thing. Each character is unique in design and easy to tell apart, making a large amount of details unnecessary. This style gives everything a lighthearted atmosphere that's perfectly suited to the stories being told.

The characters are almost exclusively female, both ayakashi and human. Our human cast is comprised of Mahoro, the granddaughter of the original caretaker of the house, and later on, a German/Japanese transfer student named Takanashi Emi. Her goal is to befriend as many ayakashi as she can, though this is made difficult by the fact that she can only vaguely see them. With Mahoro's help, she not only gains the ability to see them clearly, but also has the opportunity to meet many different ayakashi.

The ayakashi - and the tenants of the house - are Kii, a tiny zashikiwarashi (house spirit) whose favorite thing is food; Kuuko, a kitsune spirit who loves mischief and can create illusions; Yukime, a gentle yukionna who has a fondess for sleeping in the refrigerator; and Nene, a newly-born nekomata ayakashi who is still learning what it means to be a spirit.

All in all, the plot of Ayakashi Ko isn't very deep, but it easily achieves what it's meant to be - a light story about the day to day life of ayakashi and the humans who care for them.
