We asked passionate readers which manga you need to read now—and here are the results! ![]() ![]() fantasy manga I keep coming back to whenever I feel the need to escape mundane reality, it's comforting and captivating, including isekai ![]() ![]() mixed with some non-mystery or non-fantasy victorian era/gothic-style manga ![]() ![]() Dear Gothic Lolita lover ![]() ![]() Ones that I think stand out among the rest and do something different. There are many supernatural mangas that I love, however, these are the ones that not only do I love, I consider them truly unique whether that be referring to the world setting, story concept, or characters. ![]() ![]() Series that have gothic and/or vicrotian or edwardian feel/setting/aesthetic. Periods like 19-century Europe and French Revolution are included! ![]() ![]() Manga, manhwa or manhua with bromance or BL subtext. ![]() ![]() Mangas from different genres and demographies that will most likely leave a mark on you. Rich stories with strong characters and themes, sometimes uplifting, sometimes tragic, but stories worth telling. Beware of the TWs, lots of the mangas presented here contain delicate subjects ![]() ![]() Manga with a shounen or seinen with a romance subplot in the background, although it’s not the main focus (plenty of romance fan service though). ![]() ![]() Manga which ![]() ![]() Manga/Manhwa/Manhua with main characters that either have autism or are characters that could be autistic. Autistic coded characters that aren’t specifically expressed as autistic in the series count as well. Obviously, there are manga that don’t go in depth about autism as that’s extremely rare in manga and anime however I chose stories where I think it’s clear that the characters are on the spectrum, or could be. Every autistic character is different, in no way are any of these stories a clear cut example of every autistic person and if there is bad behavior, I’m not excusing it because they are autistic. There are all types of people, including autistic people, and this list is just stating whether or not they fit the diagnosis in my head. (Currently updating descriptions and explanations) ![]() ![]() Doesn't include manga with settings older than the 10th century. So no Ancient Greece or Roman Empire, for example. |
